During one of my travels abroad, I was staying at an apartment house. Very friendly and comfortable place. And, the people at the front desk always say things straight to the point. One time when I was coming back after dinner outside, I asked the man at the fron desk "Any phone calls for me ?", and he answered right to the point "No phone calls. Nobody loves you !". I was shocked ! Ha ha ! But, come to think about it , he was absolutely right ! Has any one said any thing to you , straight to the point ? What did he/she say ? And how did you feel about it ?

It is so nice that you took it on the funny side. Well, i haven't had anyone tell me things straight to the point. But i think that would be nice to hear, and yes maybe it will shock me too but i think it will make laugh as well.

Good morning Sweetie. How are you ? Yes, he is a funny guy. He might have been joking when he said it to me. It's ok. I just take it lightly ! Have a nice day dear friend Sweetie.

i think that was extremely ugly for him to say that to you. i'd probably told him to go to h#ll. i know someone loves you. how would he know to start with. what a tacky man!

Sheesh! Now THAT was uncalled for! Why the hell did he have to say that for? If he was joking then he would've said "just kidding", "PSYCH!" or anything else like that, although he shouldn't be doing in a business except for close friends who'd laugh along with him and brush it off. But if he was serious, then there's no reason for him to stay at his job any longer if he's going to put people down like that. If he kept it up, he should've been fired. After all, you could've asked for the manager or a boss who runs the place.

I agree with your thoughts. He should not be mean like that to customers. Afterall, his job is customer service. If he was just kidding , he should have said that too. The next time I stay there, if I stay there, I would make it a point to tell him that "many people love me" ! Ha ha ! This is just kidding myself !

greenline, that was not a very nice thing for the person to say to you. It was rude and uncalled for. You do have people that love you. Your mom and dad, siblings. There are people that care about you and yes some that love you...they just don't tell you most of the time. Sometimes we need to be the one to initial the conversation or the comment. Telling someone that you love them will prompt a reply. I don't think I've ever had anyone say this to me. I'd be upset naturally if they did.

Hello Moondancer. Yes, I agree with you. I felt exactly the same too, it was rude and uncalled for. It was really strange that he didn't know what he was saying. Thank you for your support !

that was not funny, and a person who is not your friend has no right to say that to you. what kind of friendlyness does that hotel shows. that was a mean thing to say. for example i have cancer and i am travelling just to unwind then i ask for any letters, message and calls for me.... do you think that is a nice remark for me to hear. thats is really awful. sorry for the outrage.... har har har. so far nobody is that awful to me in a hotel that we stayed before with my wife.... my wife is very particular on people so she will really be pissed if someone would be like that to us in a place we payed to stay. when someone will say something straight to the point example this is i am a musician and some people say something about my group or about me in particular then i will accept it. mold my craft more for me to be ood on what i do.

Yes , this was awful ! I understand what you are saying. In fact, I had never heard a remark like that either back home or while traveling. Thank you very much for your views about it.

I travel a lot to different parts of the world. Different ways of expression. I didn't quite understand why he thinks so about my life. So, most likely joking !

How awful. Yes I have been a recipient of straight to the point talk but nothing as cruel as that. I don't also believe that nobody loves you. Not having a phone call doesn't mean that nobody loves you. I used to leave away from home and my parents seldom calls me and sometimes weeks would go without even a call but it doesn't mean that they don't love me.

It was a rather strange remark ! May be it was coming from some sad experience he had in his life ! Yes, I agree with you. The example of your parents is an excellent case. Thank you.

Plenty of people have been straight to the point with me. As long as it is true, I don't mind them being so direct. I would rather not "beat around the bush" anyway. I have to say, it saddens me that you think this person is right. Everyone is loved by someone - ALWAYS! You never know when or how you may have brightened someone's day and how they loved you for it. Please don't take what this guy said to heart. He obviously didn't know what he was talking about.
