Does anyone get up to change the TV channel anymore?

I'm sure just about everyone has a television with a remote control. Our lives have become so much easier since the remote was invented. I wonder though, are there still people that actually get up from their seats to change the television station?

i don't, but we will put our remote up high or the kids will lose it so we make them get up and turn the channel if they are watching the tv. If me or my boyfriend are watching it with them we will have the remote so the kids don't have to get up. I just hate it when they lose the remote all the time so we started putting it up and making them go to the tv if they want to change the channell.

Hi ya Shar19
Well I guess you could say that with my boys tv's you would have to get up to change the channel because they don't have a remote control for their tv's but they are not tuned into channels anyway and are used for their DVD players and games consoles!!

The only button that works on our TV is the power button, so we have to use the remote. But I do get up to turn it on sometimes, just to spice up my life. lol

I actually started to get up to turn the tv off when we would call it a night and I would put some of the kids toys away. We would keep the toys near the tv and since I was over there I just started to turn it off from the tv. Since our main remote could not change the input settings on the tv and I was tired of trying to find that remote I began to change them from the tv. Its now second nature to reach to the side of the tv and start pressing the buttons.
This brings back the days of turning the channels with a bared foot.

I had a television a few years ago that I had lost the remote for, so I had to do that until I bought a universal remote. However my son somehow un-programmed that darn thing and I could not find the directions, so I had to go back to changing channels for awhile.

We can change the channel on the television itself. However, it's a little difficult that change the channel on our satellite. We need a remore to do that job. I hope I never run out of batteries. lol
