I don't have a credit card because I don't know if i could trust myself. Also you can spend money that you don't have. If I had a credit card I would go bankrupt.

For a long time I used to think like you.
But then, there are companies who don't sell you things if you have no credit card.
If you want to rent a car, no renatl company will rent you the car, if you have no vredit card.
If you want to book a hotel, ahead of time - again, no credit card, no booking.
The best thing to do, is to have a credit card, for emergency. You don't have to spend the money on it.
Or, if you do, pay the whole balance on time, so you won't be charged any interest.
In these days, you have to be a consciencious spender.Buy only what you need, when you need it, and if it's possible, on sale.

I have two credit cards.
There have been times in my life initially when I had the cards that I spent a little more than I shoud've, but to date after about 6 years of having cards, I've never paid a cent in interest and have always paid my balances in full.
I couldn't live without a credit card at this point. There are some months where I don't use it at all and others where I use it quite a bit.
It just makes many things so much easier and more convenient.
I use it when I travel abroad too. The fees bite sometimes, but I'd rather use it as opposed to worrying about traveller's cheques or anything like that.
