It's Now The Third Month Of The Year...Have You???

...Kept your New Year's resolutions? Fulfilling them? Did you break them? Given up on them? First, I can't believe these past few months have whizzed by already and we're now into March. Like many people I had a lot of goals set out at the beginning of the year, as far as writing more articles, writing my fiction, especially in my one novel (have three in the works)--yet it's not that I exactly broke my resolutions but it seems I just can't keep up the way I planned...has this happened to you? I like to think of myself as a very goal-orientated person and I do get things done, but not as fast as I like to. I don't do time wasters....that is, I don't watch that much TV (actually hardly watch any)--I don't waste mindless hours of time yakking on the phone, to the point my friends have all but given up on me..LOL. I mean yes, I do love talking on the phone to friends, but to be honest I rather work. My main problem I think, is I just plain need 60 hours in a day..LOL Do you get discouraged when goals you set out for yourself just don't seem to be materializing or working out as you hoped? Do you give up on them then? I haven't, but would love to see them work and manifest better in my life.

I have before, but I guess this year and the changes it has brought to my life have me unusually motivated. My one resolution was to lose weight so I would feel better and be more confident. I really started in October of last year, so I guess my resolution was just to continue. And so far so good. I have lost 32 pounds. Now all I need is a full time teaching position and I would be set.

I never make resolutions just because it is the new year. I make lists of things I wish to do and work them off, one at a time. I do it when it comes to mind and do not like to put a start date, but rather an end date. I have a list of things I want to achieve in a month, in six months, in a year, in five years, etc. This helps a lot. When you put it on paper (or computer, lol), it gives credence to it and makes it more concrete, sort of like letting out a secret. Once it is out, there is no stopping it. I like that much better because I usually will accomplish what I set out to do and do not have to feel like I failed if I did not live up to it. If something does not happen, that is okay. No pressure!! LOL

I'm a famous "list" maker myself...three lists to be exact...A general one for the new month of the things I hope to accomplish that month, then weekly of the things I want to accomplish for the week, then the night before what I want to do the next day...most are rather on-going projects though, but I still never seem to have time to do everything--for instance that one novel off mine..I had originally hoped to have had it done last year, but nope, was spending more time writing articles...I do have over 100 pages written in it so far though--mmm...think maybe the end of this year I could get it done???

Hello Doll I have figured out the best way to be sure to keep my New Year's resolutions and that is to just not bother to make any in the first place..I try to do my best each day...some days I make it others I fall short but learned something.. xoxoxoxoxo

You know the old saying Pye, the older you get the faster it goes! LOL I'm at an age now where I've simplified my life to the point where whatever goals I set are long term, work on them everyday, and try to remember why! LOL I never give up on a goal. It's what keeps my ability to dream alive............

To be frank i stopped making resolutions three years before only, the reason is very common and a simple reason. I dont follow what i resolute to follow. All because i am not that honest and sincere. But yeah, i get discouraged when my goals don come true or if my goals face any hurdles in its way, but i also know that i should get over al these hurdels to reach my goal. The one more reason why i don make resolution is that i dont like commitments in the beginning of the year only, first let us enjoy the beginnng of the new year completely then let us be little responsible, then things wil automatically get along its way rightly. So dont worry even the resoultions are broken up, forget the resolution and make a new decision, all i say is don stop the journey to your success in the name of "resoultions breakup". All the best to all who follow and don follow the resolutions, resolutions are important but more than that, the matter in the resolution is important. happy mylotting:)

Yes, I have kept my New Years resolutions! I have NOT danced naked on a piano, I have NOT covered my face with mustard, I have NOT tap danced in WalMart, I have NOT bungie jumped, I have NOT flown a plane, I have NOT robbed a bank and I have NOT eaten an entire watermelon in one sitting! I'm no fool, I make New Years resolutions I know I can keep!

I think the only goal I've had this year, and I haven't made it, is to get more sleep....

Actually, I haven't broken my resolution. I discovered that when I make resolutions and break them I get very depressed. I would much rather make goals for myself, and I am so happy to say that I am achieving those goals. Next week I am picking up my car...it isn't exactally what I wanted, I am not partial to black cars but the rest of it is a perfect fit. I got into it to test drive it and it flashed through my mind "Ahhh, the Bat Mobile!" I am known in my neighborhood for being a recluse. I am so busy inside with writing, studying and making bears that I don't have extra time for being outside other than to water the yard. It works out better for me as some of the neighbors are a bit crazier than I am! I am planning to set up the yard, this year, so I can spend time outside lounging during the summer. I am looking forward to being under my Mull berry tree in a lounge chair. I have the tv on mostly for the dogs. They bark less if they have it on and are able to have cartoons going. I tried animal planet but they got to excited and barked more. I will say that I went through about a week of being discouraged and depressed because my goals weren't going as I had hoped. But then I sat myself down and decided that I really need to get off my thumb and get back to making bears and getting the little bit of extra money in. So, after a bit of preparation I should be up and going by the end of next week. I am not to let myself give up on my goals and plans, I just end up rearranging the goals and maybe splitting them into two separate goals. I do tend to list them so I can see how far I got on them...and which ones I want to tackle next. Having that list has helped me a lot.

I am doing quite well with my resolution...it was to set no resolutions which is the best solution that I've found to that resolution dilemma. I resolved to not make any resolutions years ago because I always set goals that I couldn't live up to. I do that enough in my daily life. Like you said...we need like 60 hours in a day. I am busy always but I am such a procrastinator. Like my daughter's camera...I have to return it...got it from circuit city who is going out of business. Knowing the hassle that would be involved ...I procrastinated...finally got to it...yup it was every bit the hassle I expected and then some as of course there are circumstances making it more difficult. Got all the phone stuff done and taken care of ....went out and bought the packaging etc. Now all I have to do is package it and ship it out. I know the postlady personally and she is like....Sid..your package? oops...again. I'll get it out....tomorrow. I can't live up to my daily resolutions....year long ones are just overwhelming.

Hi Pyewacket, I didn't make any resolutions for the New Year, however, I did get a Wii Fit for Christmas and since Christmas Day have gone on it for half a hour minimum each day with the odd exception and have got my fitness age down from 55 to 28 years old and I am nearly 46 and have lost 11lbs without dieting at all so I am really pleased that I have managed to keep that up. Can't believe it is March already though! Huggles. Ellie :D

I'm like you in the sense that I don't do a great deal of time wasters; I do have a seven year old so my time is not always for me, if you know what I mean. I feel quite disappointed because each and every day I don't achieve half of what I plan and it is frustrating. Since I've been on MyLot I have not written any articles or updated my blog; it's not because I don't want to, I just run out of time. I wish for the world to stop even for a little while so I can catch up!

I don't make them anymore. I think they are not worth the effort. In this economy and all the things that have been going on in my life it just would be stupid for me to do that. I have no idea where I am going or how. As the months tick by I am reminded that I don't have a home and can't stay here forever. Same thing, I used to much of the moving money to get here so I can't even look for a place until I pay it back which is going to take 3 months. So after April I will have some direction. I guess as far as a goal for the year it would have to be find a home.....somewhere, as aoon as possible. Thats it cause I can't work anymore.

I did not make any promises to myself this year for the most part, except I did say I would not spend as much time on my laptop and I would try to do other things to relax myself, and be more aware of things I have been laxing in, and so far it is going pretty well.

Hi pyewacket! Goodness, it is really the third month of the year and I have not seen so much activity in my goals as yet. I am barely on the first and second steps at the moment and there have been some setbacks that i have to worked on first. i really would like to keep my goal and I am still doing the best I can. I am still on the look out for possible opportunities that can speed up my goals but it is turning out to be a slow road for me. Fortunately, I am still focused and not at the least discouraged. Good luck on your goals my friend and hopefully all of us will be blessed in reaching them! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

pyewacket, I don't really have a resolution but I have my plans and time schedules. I think it is important for all of us to have a goal or goals, for at least it gets us to keep going and moving with a purpose and objective. I do fall back some times and it is just human and sometimes not our own doings. I would just try and be reasonable and be flexible with the schedules. As long as we do not loose sight or loose the objective I feel it should be sufficient to convince us to keep ourselves in the race. Overloading and sighing will not get us anywhere for things will bound to happen and it will happen. Just pick ourselves up, perk up and press on. Have a nice day.

I didn't make any resolutions, so I don't have to feel bad. My Mum was always superstitious about the new year, and thought you should go to bed and let it come quietly without any fanfare. That's what I've mostly done! There are many resolutions I SHOULD have made - but seeing as I know I wouldn't keep them, there wouldn't be much point. Sixty hours in a day would probably be a bad thing for me - more time for me to waste!

well,it's akward to say that my resolution hasn't been fullfilled yet,but I will not give up.actually I only have one main resolution this year,I planed to fullfill it at the begining of this year but now it becomes difficult because of the recession thing, the situation is not optimistic right now but I will keep trying.
