Okay, I'm watching some late night TV and that annoying ShamWow guy comes on but instead of selling that product he's now promoting something else called the "Slap Chop"---mmm...sounds rather provocative Anyway, it's this mini-processor type thing to chop up foods, so he's showing off how to chop potatoes, vegetables, hard boiled eggs...then the next thing he says made me spit out my drink, and my drink was coming out of my nose as he says, "You're going to love my nuts." I swear he says, "You're going to love my nuts." Have you ever seen a commercial that made you burst out laughing to something said, even though it was supposed to be taken seriously but was funny or had a "different" meaning than what was meant? (Oh do I just have a dirty mind??) Oh, and by luck I happen to find the ad via Youtube so you can see it for yourself {Warning This link is NOT a referral but a link to the Slap Chop ad} http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPKtBM99kAc

I love commercials that have humor in them. And, I'd be willing to bet that the 'love my nuts' comment was intentional. Many people run to the kitchen or do other things during commercials, but a statement like that is going to snap heads around, isn't it? And it certainly accomplishes it's goal, because you remember the item too. Good commercials are an artform. Look at how many email copies of the Superbowl commercials went around. Our computer happens to be in the living room where my husband is a big couch potato, and I'm usually on the computer. I can zone out most of what he's watching, but a line like that in a commercial would grab my attention. Maybe I'll join you in the 'diry mind' club...lol.

Yeah, he's funny. I would love to do infommercials like that! Heck, I'd love to be in commercials! Of course, I probably would've said, "You're going to love these nuts!" so people wouldn't take things in the wrong context.

I admit - I HAVE seen this annoying pitchman touting the virtues of his chopped nuts, but the entire commercial I was thinking, "Ron Popiel put out the same product in the 60s - Uncle Charley had one." This is not a new item - you can still buy the Ronco product on ebay!!! But, yes - he really does say, 'you're gonna love my nuts'. He's almost as annoying as that guy who looks 18 or so who's trying to sell his method of becoming a millionnaire (probably by making informercials, because if his method was so successful, he wouldn't need to sell the "how to").

Yes...that chopper kind of thing isn't exactly new. And that particular one is soooo small, I mean you can't really chop all that much with it

That commercial annoys me to no end. The guy is obnoxious, but knowing he is trying to make it sound dirty is just desperate. Does he really want to be the guy everyone want to throw their remote at? They had to plan that, there is no way around it. I thought the Shamwow commercial was bad, but this is pathetic...

I know they do have some funny commercials out there nowadays but most of them are meant to be funny. I think everyone has a dirty mind in today's world. i would have thought the same thing. I made a discussion not long ago on "what kind of fruit would you like to be? Well I got yelled at for making fun of a certain type of people. I didnt mean it like that at all. So people take things in certain wys that you may not even realize. By the way You have dirty mind!!! lol

Heehee...yup do have a dirty mind. How silly though that people took offense with your discussion about fruit. Of course even the word gay has a different meaning than what the original meaning is

Yet another way to chop up food? What's wrong with a good sharp knife? Or, in the case of nuts, a hammer...

Hi Pye! Well I don't know about you but I Rushed to the phone as I only had 20 minutes to order and guess what? I also got the Graty for FREE!!!! Being I live in The Netherlands now I do not have the privilege of knowing this product or guy but I have to admit I was dying laughing about his "nuts" also...and NO, I don't think you have a dirty mind, I think they did that on purpose just so Pyewacket would spit out her drink! I purposely did not have a drink when I watched it as I did not want to clean up a mess here this morning! Some of those commercials can be so funny and I just know they say things like that just to get your attention...and they did! Thanks Pye for giving me a good laugh this morning! I have had the same thing happen to me many times, where I just sit and burst out laughing at something these goof balls say on commercials, of course if no one else hears it or gets it you look like a complete lunatic but sometimes you just have to die laughing! ;)

I wonder if the guy knew what he said there. He probably did that on purpose. This happened in this health food store when some lady asked the guy at the counter to "show me your nuts." The guy at the counter turned around, & then suddenly it hit her. "That didn't sound right," she said as she turned a redder shade of scarlet. With some of my friends, I am almost always catching them on something, & causing everyone to fall over laughing.

I once asked a salesclerk for something that sounded funny too, after I had said it...I don't even know if they still make this but it was a product to help rid one of calluses on one's feet....so I asked the clerk if she had the product..."Do you have Pretty Feet?"

Hahaha! Yeah, I saw that commercial and I could not believe what I had heard! Had me laughing hysterically. I am surprised they don't change that part. Don't they review the commercial before they put it on tv?

how said i had the same burst out of laughter as you at the same moment when I say that infomerical. I rewind it as I have DVR to rewind live TV because I though there in no way he would have let that through, somebody would have caught it, but he did say it. Personally i know i did not like his nuts, the gadget or the commerical. But I did laugh out loud twice.
