I am 34 years old and experiencing perimenopause. 4 months ago the symptoms (fatigue, major anxiety, night sweats, insomnia, tremors, hot flashes, chills, cramping & heavy/light bleeding, headaches, ect.) reared it's ugly head in FULL GEAR! I had no idea what was happening to me. I had my first anxiety attack at age 17 and have only had a "few" attacks on and off through the years. But when all these symptoms started getting more intense over the last four months I knew that something wasn't right. (Not that anything was wrong, I just had NO idea why I was having ALL of these symptoms) I have always thought that "menopause" or related symptoms only accures when a women gets in her late 40's-early 50's! Boy, was I wrong!!!! :-) I also thought that "menopause" meant ONLY that of not having a period. But in reality a women can gothrough "menopause" as early as 25 years of age.
I went to the doctor and had hormone levels and blood tests done. Doctor said everything looks great, and no sign of menopausal "stuff". That my levels were great. I'm thinking OK, well then why do I feel the way I do? All the symptoms that I have mentioned about, plus short term memory loss, fuzzy thinking, exhausted ect.
My doctore said that it could be the early stages of perimenopause. So I came home got on the internet and read up about the symptoms of each stage of "menopause" and sure enough that's exactly was happening to me! :-) Bitter sweet it is, but I have found something that does help to ease the discomforts of the hot flashes & night sweats. It's called Lydia Pinkham with Black Cohosh.
My doctor prescribed me a low dose blood pressure medicine (although I do not have high blood pressure) it helps to stop the tremors and severity of the anxiety.
I encourage ALL women going through any "menopausal" stage to look into at least trying these two tablets that I have mentioned. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY THAT YOU DID!
I am glad to be able to suggest something that is natural (an herb) to help with the discomforts of "menopausal" symptoms for ALL women that will some point in your life have to go through this inevitable change in life! :-)
I wish you all GREAT health/happiness/comfort/peace and blessings!
God Bless & BIG HUGS ?

I am also 34 and am in perimenopause... it IS possible. Perimenopause starts about 15 years before full menopause... lots of women in their 30's start experiencing this.... it ISN'T too early, it's right on time in fact. The age you start menopause is hereditary I heard but don't know if that's really correct or not. Good luck, I'm taking over the counter menopause meds and they really help with the hot flashes and mood swings.

Wow, sorry you had to start with this so early. perimenopause / menopause has quite a wide variety range of symptoms. Some women hardly notice, others can barely function. For some it's over quickly and for some it never ends.
One other thing that you might notice is that stress exacerbates it. The higher the stress the more likely the symptoms will be worse. So do what you can to keep your stress levels down too.

I have been having all of those symptoms also. I have hypothyroidism though so I have attributed it to that. I will have to ask the doc next month to see what he thinks....
