Most of this past week it has been around 70 here. Friday I woke up to a downpour of rain. It's rained hard & steady from Friday through today. About 5:00 today it started snowing. Now the ground is covered in snow. Can't remember the last time it snowed here. Now it is thundering. Haven't seen any lightening yet, but I do believe thunder & lightening go together...You don't get one without the other. Is anybody else having unusual weather??? If so tell me about it please!!!

Last year,i was pregnant and stayed in a small county with my husband. It's very cold there in January and the temperature is sometimes under 20C at night when people in my hometown ,about several hundreds mile away ,can take a sun-bath outdoors that time.A day in April, we got out to dinner and sat by window in a restaurant. You can guess how surprise i am when i saw the flake of snow flying down from the sky!

I've only ever seen snow in April once in my lifetime & I was up in the mountains in Virginia at the time & that was a little over 30 years ago.

Hello!LadyMarissa.Glad to be your friend !I've seen your funny story about your own experience of such a weather change .It can't happen in my country ,How can it change from about 70 to 0 or lower ?However, you can't be joking ,so i believe you are telling the truth .And i am interested in your experience.Where are you from ?how do you solve such a tremendous change ?In my opinion ,it was terrible,at the same time ,it is easy for people to catch a bad cold ?In my country, the weather is temperate .In my own city ,i have nerver seen a snow,How i wish that i can feel the weather !

I wasn't joking!!! You just misunderstood what I was saying. It was 70 on Wednesday & freezing last night (Sunday). It's supposed to be 72 this coming Saturday. So, we didn't drop from 70 to 0 in just one day. A week ago I said it can't happen here. Guess I was wrong!!! One thing I've learned in life is to never say never. Anything can happen at any time!!!

Here in Cairo, it's been warming up the last few weeks and then all of a sudden, the temperatures plunged again! The last few days have been really cold and it's like it's the middle of winter all over again. And now when I look at the forecast for the week, they say it's going to be 32 degress celcius plus by Saturday! 16 - 32 in a matter of days is quite a jump!

I don't know where you live but here near Dayton, Ohio, we have one of the coldest winters on record. March roared in like a lion with frigid temps and high winds so I'm looking forward to the mild end (presumably). This year, my second winter back home after living in the Southwest for so long, I experienced something pretty rare as far as I know--thunder during a snow storm! It was pretty neat, although my dog hated it.
So, this is global warming?!

I'm in the northwest corner of Georgia. I've lived 59 years & never heard it thunder during a snowstorm. I agree with your dog...I found it a little unnerving!!! That was the lead story on the news this morning. There was no news except for the snow because the bad guys couldn't get out to do anything wrong!!! The ice on my steps is so hard I can't get it off. I'd try some boiling water but I do think that would make it worse & I wouldn't be able to get back in once out!!! I don't live anywhere near the Canadian border simply because I HATE SNOW!!! One good thing, a lot of people around here has NO electricity. Atleast I have my heat & my computer!!!

We are getting normal weather for this season this week. In fact, we are looking a noreaster with lots of snow tonight, nine to twelve inches. The funny part is I am in Eastern, Pa and D.C. is expecting more and my brother-in-law and his wife just moved from up north with LOTS of snow to there!! LOL

I guess normal is relevant. 9-12 inches may be normal there. 6 inches is unheard of here even in the middle of winter. But it's almost spring. Temps of 70 last week & 72 in the next 5 days is normal here. Don't ever remember having thundersnow!!! I've called around to several businesses today & it seems they ALL are closed or late opening. Just glad I've got everything I need to stay home for a day or two!!!

WEird, weird weather there right enough LadyM! I bet there is lightning - you just can't always see it depending on the weather conditions etc. AS for here well it was VERY cold for weeks but nothing that unusual! We did notice tonight though that it wasn't dark at 6pm and that is fantastic as it means the days are getting a lot longer already! Yipppeeee xxxxx

YIPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE is it!!! It was daylight at 6:40 this morning. The days are definitely getting longer!!!! I know I shouldn't be whining about the snow. It's just that my lillies were beginning to break through the ground & I was preparing myself for Spring!!! My heavy winter clothes that kept me warm all winter aren't warm enough today!!!

Normally when it snows here, it is cold for days before the storm. We are having snow sandwiched between 70 degree days...just doesn't make sense. In the middle of winter would be strange enough. But this time of year is our Springtime!!! Its snowing almost all the way to Florida. I feel sorry for the birds that fly South for the winter. They will run out of land if they go past the snow!!!

Hi ladyM am not sure if it is freaky weather here in the UK, but it has been the coldest winter in about 90yrs as snow was coming from the Artic...we have had downpours of rain now the weather is dry and quite mild, yet by the next month if the seasons go as they should we should have more rain...I hope the weather doesn't get too bad for you there when I did visit the USA many years ago now I was there for a year and saw the winter it was cold then and the snow was 6ft, I was in Wisconsin at the time..but hope it doesn't last for long for you at this time of year cos that is freaky..hugs littleowl

I've never been a fan of snow...not even as a child!!! I do like the idea that I don't have to go anywhere today!!! Our flowers were popping up through the ground. Our trees beginning to get buds. This was a real shocker. I laughed last week when they said it was going to be 50 on Sunday & snow Sunday night. Well, it never made it to 50 & it started sleeting around noon. Then it changed back to rain. Around 5:00 the snow began & it snowed about an inch per hour from then until midnight. Across the border in SC, traffic is backed up for 20 miles or more. People have been stuck sitting there for over 8 hours. It's so seldom that we have snow, we just don't know how to act when we do!!! Oh well, I'm gonna stop whining & maybe take a nap!!!

Not sure how long before it will settle down. During the night it turned into an ice pack. We have about 6 inches of snow that has turned into solid ice. I know some of my northern friends will laugh at that statement, but down here where 1 inch of snow closes down everything, 6 inches of ice is a disaster!!! We have no snow plows nor other removal equipment. It's not supposed to get warm enough to melt much of this today so we will still be dealing with this tomorrow. The interstates are closed down. Now they are saying it will be 72 by Saturday. In December & January I was going out in my shirt sleeves. Now I'm trapped in my home & need a heavy wool coat just to step outside!!!

We haven't had rain in ages. Our main lake is down 18 feet. So, to have rain for 3 days & then snow & ice is really weird!!!

Yea here in arizona we almost reaching 90 today which is weird, i mean we usually get and nice few month of winter/spring but it seems to have come in quick bursts of rain for a few days here and there. We usually dont reach 90 until around mid may.
Hopefully this weather doesn't last D:

I've been having a lot of strange weather I live too. Saturday night it started snowing and by the next morning, the ground was white with snow. But then it melted altogether by around noon. That's just one example. It's weird since it's snowed two years in a row where I live, even if just for one day whereas before it hadn't snowed for like nine years.
In probably the past two week it's gone from being the mid to high 70s and then the next day it would be in the 30s. Then all week it would be raining.

Hi LadyMarissa..Here in eastern canada, it is raining right now and was raining real hard and foggy earlier. This morning it was about 4 hours of ice pellets and yesterday was snow. Oh ya, and last week was lovely and sunny.
They always say if you dont like the weather here, just wait 5 minutes and it will change. HOw true that seems to be. This winter, we have had much more snow than in recent years...I much prefer the milder winters with less snow.
