Which do you prefer to be told "I love you because I need you" or "I need you because I love you"? I asked hubby this question and he said "What's the difference?". Guys! (sigh) What do you think about it mylotters? For me there's a big difference.

I would rather be told "I need you because I love you." I don't think the first statement would be real love. It would be the illusion of love due to need. The second statement is how one should feel about their mate.

thanks for your response. At first I looked at your display image, it couldn't have been from a guy. then I checked out your profile, it's a female weeee lol. I'm not generalizing men (sorry) but like my hubby, they don't see the big difference.

Sorry, the pic is a little misleading. It is of my honey and our daughter, Hannah.

i would rather to be told "I need you because i love you". this word you can assure that he/she truly have a feelings to you and he/she wont let you go in her/his life. No benefits are being take for granted.

Yes, your hubby appears right. I feel there is not much difference in it, if the question is raised between a wife and husband. It does not matter much whether a wife would love a hubby because there is need or vice versa. Actually, in a marriage it is mutual from both the end and the practical answer to your question is we love someone because we need him/her.
