I was listening to this radio station, and they said people that smoke 2 packs a day spend $300.00 on Smokes, or for a year 3,000 think what you can do with that money. That's a lot of money to spend on Smokes I am Glad a quit 30 years ago. My girlfriend has found these cigerettes she pays $1.00 a pack. I don't know the name of them, but they sale them for only a Dollar, Ok, how much do you spendon this for a month or a year? I am just curious? have a nice day!

Hi honey,
Nada. Nothing at all.
I am a non-smoker. I don't even want to get started.
Yea I know you are a smoker and it's your choice. Nah, I am not gonna preach or whatever. No one knows better than the other and it's up to each of us how we want to live our lives.
Geez, I hope it didn't come across as preaching nevertheless. Huggles.

No one knows what the next day brings. I think everything is pre-determined to a certain degree - whether you smoke or not, it does not shorten your pre-determined life span lol. Just silly old me.

I was a smoker for more than 10 years.Recently I had quit smoking.I used to spend 200 rs per month that means approximately 4$ per month. That means 50$ per year.I have almost spent more than 500$ just for smoking.
It is very bad thing, what I had done. After I realized I quit it.
Wish you all the best.

There's a lot to be said for quitting...not only health, but for the pocketbook too! Wow~ I can't believe your friend finds them for only a dollar, especially since I think most people are paying $4 and up even for non-brand name. I spend $0 a year on it lol. I'm glad you're a 'quitter'! (And they say "quitters never win and winners never quit" hahaha, this sure proves that old statement part wrong.)

Mine cost just over £5 with all the tax and everything, so I spend approximately £50 a week, which is £2,600 per year, almost equivalent to your $3,000, and that's smoking between 20 and 30 a day! I AM about to quit though because that's the most expensive habit/hobby I have.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Yeah, I know I have a strong enough willpower when I really decide it's time to give up, because I've done it before. However, now I don't work, I tend to smoke for the sake of it... I need to get out more and make a rule not to smoke when I'm out! Thank you for your encouragement, my friend.

I have a different opinion, that if you feel that smoking is helping me to relive tensions and worries but it is still harmful, then you should reduce smoking slowly i.e like today u r smoking 20 cig. than reduce it to 19 next day and so on. One days you will able to quit smoking.

Most people spend more than a thousand dollars. Every few years it is the price of a small new car.

hello,my father used to smoke much and now he had given it up for years, i heard from my mother that he also spent lots money for the cigerettes. and much extra money to solve the problem that smoke brings, the sickness comes after heavy smoke even cost more than the cigerettes itself. best wishes.

Thanks to God, I am not a smoker. But my husband is a smoker. About RMB400 ,equal to 60 dollars , for him to buy cigerettes. It is not so expensive for us. But I really hope he could quit the smoking which is hurt his health.

Well thank god that I dont smoke. Because I know me I would end up spending a lot of money on cigerettes per month since I probally would be smoking a lot knowing my addiction problem. So I cant afford to start smoking nor would I ever start smoking since I find it pretty stupid that people do.

Friend i hate smoking but my father smokes and he spent up to 25 rupees per day for a pack.
25*30 = 750 rupees
750*12= 9000 rupees
1$ = 50 rupees
it means 180 dollars
Its a big amount for indian's but what we family members can do he got adicted to smoking and we cannot save our 9000 rupees

Hi Marciascott...Here where I live on the east coast of Canada, smokes are about $10 a pack..there are some "cheap" ones for just over $8.
I am go glad that I quit!! However it took a heart attack to do it! My hubby still smokes but only outside, and a pack now lasts him about 3 days.
If not, here would be the story...
We both used to smoke a pack a day and sometimes more.
At $10 a pack, thats $20 a day, or $140 a week,or $560+ a month or
over $6000 a year! How crazy is that!! Some people used to say that if you quit, you dont really notice the difference because you will spend it on something else...Well I notice a huge difference..I am now actually able to save some money.
So now its just hubby...at about 2 packs a week, at $20 for the week ...verses the $140 a week that we used to spend.

I smoke a pack a day minimum, sometimes 2. I only buy the special "buy 1 get 1 free from Marlboro, so 2 packs cost me 4.30 at Wal Mart. I spend about $1,500 a year on cigs, and wish I could quit. I have been smoking for 40 years, and bet I have spent at LEAST $20,000 since I started. If I had never started, I would have enough for a new car and be in better health!
