Friends past and present

I have been a member of myspace for awhile now, but just recently I have started searching for friends from High School. It got me thinking though, In high school, and college, you swear with your friends to always stay in touch no matter what. Life sure has a way of changing your focus on such things. I am a stay at home mom of 3,and have been married for 14 years to my high school sweetheart, and I haven't spoken to a majority of these people since graduation day. As far as friends in the present tense, making new friends now, is not a big priority when it competes with the everyday life of a stay at home mom. It makes me miss the bond that I was able to have with my friends of the past. So basically the topic i mean to get to for this post is, Do you find it easy to keep in touch with friends of the past? How has it been for you making the new friends that you have in your adult life?

There are a few friends that I've kept in touch with from high school. But I am pleased with facebook and being able to find friends that I've lost contact with. I talked to a guy on facebook the other day that I hadn't seen in more than 20 years! It was so awesome.
You are right though. We promise to stay in touch, and then everyone drifts apart anyway. I see it happening with my daughter's classes as well.
