Have you had the flu this year? My husband has it and is really sick. I am now coming down with it. I hadn't heard about the flu being in our area, but the pharmacist says there are alot of flu cases in our area. If you have had the flu, what symptoms did you have, and did you have to get an antibiotic because you developed a bacterial infection? How long did it take you to get over the flu? Do you have any suggestions for getting through this mess as quickly as possible?

I have missed it so far thank goodness but various members of my extended family did have it. They had terrible coughs that lingered for weeks. Fever, chills and very fatigue feeling, aches and pains and stopped up heads is what they had. I hope you and your husband feel better soon. Drink lots of fluids and get plenty of rest!

Thank you so much for your response, Kareng. I pray that you and the rest of your family do not get it! The symptoms they had are exactly John has been having. I haven't gotten to the fever and aching part yet. For one whole day, my husband wouldn't drink any fluids because he was so nauseaus, but your suggestions are exactly what we need to do.

unfortunately all you can do is rest and drink lots of fluids. i actually havent gotten the flu (i did get a flu shot and while there is over 100 types of flu, it only covers 1 or 2)
but i have been plagued with an on again off again lung infection this winter so maybe thats why?
feel better soonest!

Thanks so much, Cher. We had a flu shot too, but apparently the type that is going around wasn't included in the vaccine. It didn't seem to make it less harsh, either. I pray you don't get the flu and that God strengthens you so that you don't have any more lower respiratory infections.
