i know i should be grateful, but i'm beyond bored here at work. yes i'm grateful to have a job BUT i'm dying here. my brain is actually shrivelling up and dying lil by lil. i am online and allowed to read at my desk, but the problem is i'm chained to a desk for 8 hours a day. i have maybe 10 hours of work a week, so the other 30 i'm picking my nose. everyone thinks that would be so great, to have nothing to do at work, but trust me it makes you resentful and mean. do you hate your current position? do you have a dream job picked out when the recession ends?

LoL... i can sense that you really want to quit your job. never considered starting a home business? or trying a home based job? i'm not sure which one's better tho' - having a bad job or not having a job at all..LoL... i'm unemployed now and still looking for the perfect one.. or at least next to perfect if perfect really don't exist.

No having a job like that is sooo boring. I'd rather have work to do. It makes the day pass much faster. It's nice when you feel really bad in a way not having to be really busy, but also that wait to be able to go home is much longer.

If you have a computer available, find things that you can do online, may be writing articles, short stories, etc. If you like writing brief reviews, take a look at "Review Stream". You can write reviews online and you get paid. Have a nice time !

Haha You know I use to have an office job before I had my daughter which was about the same as what it sounds you do. I sat at the desk for a good 8 hours with nothing to do because I would get all my work done fairly quickly and my boss was hardly ever in so it didn't leave me with much to do. I hated it! I have worked both physical jobs and mental jobs and boy I would much rather have a physical labor job over a mentally draining job any day! If I was still working there I would hate it but my wonderful place of business decided to give me the boot when I had to be off for 6 weeks on maternity leave because I had a c-section. So now I'm at home taking care of my little one looking for oppurtunities to make money to keep our family afloat during the recession. Definately be grateful you still have a job people in my neighboorhood are losing jobs & homes rapidly. It's very scary! My dream job is to be able to make millions from home! Haha It's exactly that - a dream! Try & have fun @ work and don't look at the clock too much, it seems to only make it worse!

yea, i try everything i can think of, i am definitely an office girl, but i've been an office manager since i was 19, so the challenge is pretty much gone, its this dam economy screwing everything up. i think if everyone just stopped being so scared, we would rebound rather quickly, but the banks hold all the cards.
