The only true way to make money online is to spend a little.

I see all these posts to make money online, How by clicking and getting $.05 per click? Give me a break. Then I see people who ask how they can make money online only by doing "free" programs, okay you get what you pay for.
I have been online now for years, and the only way to make real money is to do it right here's my step by step formula.
1: You need to have a real product, no e-books or PTC site BS. If you do not have a product to sell I know of several affiliate sites where online merchants will pay you up to 15% of the sale for you to bring them sales, and some will pay you only for leads sent to them, so step one is to find a product or service to promote.
2: BUY i said BUY a website hosting plan, there are many to chose from, the one I use cost me less than $3.00 per month. Free web hosting is Cr_p!, you will never, I repeat NEVER do well on a free host because it will be a URL like www.MywebSite.FreeHost.Com or www.Freehost.com/my website and besides they are free because they load your site with their ads. Buy your own hosting plan
3: Buy a domain name that has something to do with what you are promoting, research the product and what words people use to find that product, Use those words in your URL, if you are going to promote TVS for example something like www.cheapertvs.com would be great because it uses the words Cheap and TV and is short enough for people to remember. I get my Domain names for about $8.00 per year.
4:Build your site now, For my sites I use Joomla, It is a free site building template that has lots of extras that will make building your site easy. When writing content (words-text) use the words that people are searching for often in the text, this is called keywords, and it is better to find multiple keywords combinations, single keywords are very hard to rank on in the search engines if your site is very young. I use two and three keywords phrases, these words that people use to find your site must be in your text and about 3% of the total word volume of the text.
5: Now you are finished with your text, now within the site you put your links to the products, I generaly use data feeds, this is where the merchant gives you a text document that has all their products and information and links in the feed, this will also using Joomla create a menu field where people can search your site for what they are looking for.
Now that that is done, move on to the SEO portion of your site, this would be the "Meta" Data, there are a few meta tags you will now create, the meta keyword data which you will put your keywords in separated by a comma, The Meta description tag, here you will right a short description of your site also using your keywords, and then the meta title tag, This is where most sites, 90% of them go wrong. they believe this is the title of their site and they put their URL or something like "welcome to my site", This is NOT the title of your site, it is the title of the page, and it should be full of your keyword phrases
Okay all done, now all you need to do is submit your site to the search engines. Don't expect a flood of traffic at first but soon you will be getting traffic and it will keep increasing after time, You may want a good SEO software to help you tweak your site after a while, I use one.
Okay this is how you make real money, And how much did I spend? Not hundreds or even thousands, NOT Even Ten bucks for my first month and under three bucks every other month after that and i make over $800.00 per month right now, Good investment?
Any Questions?

Hi freethinkingagent
Very good and very useful posting indeed!
I have the interest to start a website to sell real goods as you have mentioned.
Can you please mention which is providing the hosting service for $3 a month?
Where you can get the domain name for $8 per year?
If you had mentioned some of your sites name,it would have given us a practical view of what you have said in this discussion. Also you might have got some visitors to your site additionally.
If you can not reply my doubts in your comments, accept my friend request and PM me.
Thanks a lot for your valuable posting.
Happy mylotting

Sure! I buy my domains at www.namesecure.com My hosting is don from the folks at www.workathomehome.net Not only do they offer a hosting package but a total ecommerce as well. But I just use the regular hosting they offer. The guys there are real helpful and can give you tips and help with putting your site together. They also have a forum to post questions for other users and a live chat room as well where you can learn every trick in the book to have a successful website. Hope that helps.

You've done a great job step-by-step, laying all of this out, and it is a interesting read.
But I know nothing about any of this, and so just read and think about what I'm reading.
Also, being handicapped with a vision impairment, has its drawbacks as well.
I do have a few pluses that has been mentioned here though:
I do have the gift of gabb as the old saying goes. And - at my last job, my store manager told someone that I could "sell flat tires." LOL
I hope to somehow or some day find a way to earn an extra 200 - 300 a month. That would be lovely.
Good discussion here.
