how often do you drink coffee? are you dependent on it? how do you take it?
i drink my black coffee (sans sugar and cream / 150 ml of water and a teaspoon of instant coffee) 3 times a day with specific times or a major migraine follows. if withdrawal hits: bad chilling follows with sweating. some of my friends say maybe i'm an ADHD since they say i'm like lost out there if i go cold turkey. some studies say caffeine can treat ADHD. i can even stay in bed the whole day if i try withdrawing from coffee for i feel catatonic. i also feel my mind is not working properly for simple directions can be quite difficult to understand. they say coffee makes you hyper and irritable. people should see me without it. no heads of state would be spared if i'm irked without caffeine in my system.

Well, I somehow only get to drink coffee if I want to and if I need to, especially when I still need ot stay up to do something. During my work back in an english camp, I sometimes drank coffee when I was feeling a bit tired while still having a few more classes that would follow.
Then later at night, since its cold, I would often prepare myself a cup of coffee. I only get to prepared quick ones that you could just fix by opening a sachet and pouring it into your mug and add hot water. A co-teacher of mine brought his own and it was rather good. Natural was good it seems. I even learned a different way of preparing it when a student of ours tried it. (^_^ )

Well, have you consulted doctors? I mean, you get to drink lots of coffee before due to necessity but, if it has become an addiction, maybe doctors can give you prescription to help you out on getting you over the coffee yearning of yours..?
I guess my work before simply didn't demanded me long hours which would've convinced me to drink more if it were the case..

that's okay. i don't think doctors are needed. my ob-gynie said it's even okay to have it when i was pregnant but that was only 2 cups. i drink 3 cups of coffee now. 2 - 3 cups is okay. i read it in the back of a coffee pack. i think it's the absence of sugar and cream that makes my coffee weird.

my coffe with water only isn't so bad. just have anything sweet like a cake with it. it helped me with my weight. lost 16 post pregnancy pounds with it. just so that i stop eating the cake once my 150 ml of coffee runs out.

I drink coffee and tea, and I drink it whenever I need the boost. If I did not get a lot of sleep, of I am lacking energy, then I will drink a lot of coffee or tea, depending on my mood.

I love the smell of coffee and for a while I started drinking it mostly milk in my cup. The days I wouldn't drink it I would get these horrible headaches and they wouldn't go away until I would drink coffee. Like I needed a caffeine fix or something. I have been trying to stay away from it b/c it is a big pricey and I'm trying to cut my grocery bill in half for the month but we do treat ourselves to a starbucks every now and then.

coffee does have this smell that i also love. guess that's why i'm a bona fide coffee addict. why not try the regular, instant coffees instead of starbucks? nescafe coffee is fine if it is the caffeine fix your system wants. thanks for responding :)

Well i have around 2 cups of white coffee which contains 1 sugar in each with around 60ml of milk in each. My black coffee i have no sugar and obviously no milk!
If i don't have this for a few days i do start to get a small but constant headache.
I am not addicted to caffeine i just love to have some in my system to help me along.

I was drinking alot of coffee lately, and on a daily basis. I love the way it tastes, but maybe that's only because I take a little coffee with my cream and sugar? LoL!!No, I really do like the taste of coffee. I know this because I eat coffee flavored candy and ice cream too:)
Unfortunately, because I was drinking so much so often I totally screwed up my sleeping schedule!!! I've only recently got back on track, but I still have to have at least one cup daily.

Oh yeah.... I love anything and everything coffee flavored, I've even tasted coffee flavored jelly beans. I don't think that I could drink coffee without cream though. Maybe if it were really gourmet..... but I don't usually splurge like that.

Before I was a coffee addict. I couldn't stand the day without drinking 6 cups of coffee. I will feel irritated when I don't do that. I can also focus on something if I am sipping a cup of coffee. I did that for more than 5 years until I started palpitating. I consulted my doctor and she said, I need to reduce the amount of caffeine intake. I can't do anything but to try very hard. I started to reduce one cup of coffee in day eventually I was able to make it to just one cup of coffee a day.

i used to do 8 full mugs of plain coffee and water. congratulations to you on that 1 cup daily. but way back to those days with 8 mugs i used to hyperventilate when extreme emotions happen.

I love coffee and a few other caffeinated drinks including tea and some sodas. However, I don't drink any of them regularly. I don't have an addiction to caffeine and I think it is because I don't react to it in the same way that others do. I have never felt the effects of caffeine until this pregnancy. I worked at Starbucks coffee shop and had lots of regular drinks while there without ever feeling withdrawal on the days I didn't work. I drink coffee in every way imaginable from black to with all sorts of yummy stuff in it. I rarely drink it with cream or sugar though.

I like drinking coffee, I take one cup a day, or twice a day, sometimes, it's just twice a week or once a week. I am not really dependent on coffee. I love cappucino, latte, mocha, and other mixes, not really black coffee.

I drink coffee everyday. I wake up to it most mornings. I have a big coffee mug that I fill to take with me to work, and I drink a cup or two before I ever leave the house. In total, I drink at minimum on epot each day. I put Splenda and creamer in mine. I used to use regular sugar, but, not any more. If I don't have my coffee, I don't feel like I am able to wake up right.

I need at least 2 cups of coffee to feel "normal" in the morning. Those are with a splash of cream and some sugar, so I guess that's about 1 cup of black coffee. I can function without it, but I get a caffeine headache if I don't have it.

Hello Ritchele, right now, are you drinking and enjoying your coffee? I really love coffee, but i cant say im a coffee addict because i can still survive
even i dont have any coffee in the drawer. My favorite coffee is any good
quality coffee just like any arabica coffee.. i dont like the aroma and the taste
of robusta, its just like not good. I do really like coffee latte, espresso, mochaccino, mocha, italian soda, and so on... im really a coffee lover, i love
the aroma the coffee is being brewed... and the sound of espresso machine, its nice and feeling that im sitting inside the kitchen where i can meet my family,
eat and talk a lot of things. Im actually have a dream that someday if i alraedy finish my college, and if possible to go to med, then after graduate, im going
to open a coffee shop with ice cream house in the city, near the campus and high school. because i want the students visit and enjoy the atmosphere, sitting and meeting or dating, have a date with someone special inside the cafe, its maybe a nice place for enjoy the food and enjoy the atmosphere. Hmm...
About cafeine, i dont think it has side effects to our body, as long as you know the normal dosage that dont drink too much. Everything too much may have side effects. Dont say coffee, you eat too much chocolate, something with sugar, or too much milk, too much salty, too much... everything too much is not good, perhaps money is not included because many people agree they want so bad too much money. hehehe
Dont worry, get a cup, catch the coffee, pour hot water, and enjoy them.

you know, i've been encountering the term robusta nowadays. i think that's the best or so i read because it's the strongest? i gotta try that again. had it then. it's not popular here in the philippines so i'd try hard to look for it in the supermarket aisles. capuccino is okay even the instant ones. it's just that with my 3 cups daily the calories would go to my waistline. and i wouldn't get to enjoy my sweets that i take with coffee if i have sugar and cream in mixed in it.
anyway, good luck with your dream of a coffee house. go get them, girl.

There are a lot of different findings on the benefits of coffee and caffeine. For me myself, caffeine has proven to be a real problem when it comes to my nervous condition. I have mild to moderate anxiety in my opinion and that caffeine doesn't do anything to help it especially due to the fact that it is a stimulant.
As for caffeine being able to help certain people, I am not surprised that it could possibly help those suffering from certain disorders as ADHD as you have mentioned here above. I can't say that I have taken in a lot of cups of coffee in any given day in my recent past but I do know that I cut back and when I did cut back I was getting extra tired and having some headaches.
I think it is normal to have some symptoms of withdrawal when it comes to trying to cut back or cutting back entirely from coffee and the like. I have been staying away from most caffeinated drinks and it seems to have helped me with my jitters.
It seems that with what you are describing of yourself that it might be you are not such a good candidate right now from abstaining entirely from coffee. You really have an addiction here. You have perhaps become a slave to it. I think that you can stop if you want to but you would have to take small steps. I think that overall caffeine is not very good for your system.

Hi,
I try to take coffee once a day with milk or coffeemate.
Sometimes, I feel tired if I don't drink coffee during the day.
If I don't drink coffee, I drink tea for the day.

I drink coffee but I am really addicted to it. Sometimes, I drink one cup and sometimes 2 cups in a day. That's just it. Usually I prefer juices rather than coffee. But if there is a need like I want to be active and have lots to do, then I drink coffee since it really makes me awake. I think coffee always have this stimulating effect on most people since caffeine stimulates the heart to beat faster. This in turn will provide more blood and of course more oxygen in our system making us active. But of course, to much coffee would certainly be bad for health.
