of course, the ton of cotton will take up a lot more space. it will be bigger, but have the same weight. a ton of inflated balloons would be bigger still, but still the same weight.

Hi! I know everyone has said it, but I see why it would seem weird. They do weigh the same but the cotton would take up A LOT more space and I wouldn't really want it. Now, if you have a ton of gold, would you care to share?

Oh lol.. what a question is this, you should have thought it before posting it. Anyhow cool, the weight going to be the same but the quantity of cotton will seems higher as its occupy more space. Any more question like this ;) cool just kidding. Happy mylotting.

Ah I remember that trick question from when I was school. It was actually a bonus question on a science test that I had. Only it was a ton of bricks and a ton of feathers. That did seem to be a bit of a brain teaser a lot of the time, but really, it is one of those things that really make a lot of sense when you think about it and the answer is easy. The answer is they both weigh the same thing, because it is fact a ton. Now the exact quantity is going to be different, but that's not what the question is asking. That is really an interesting thing to think about but really it is just a trick to the mind. Therefore when there is in fact a ton of everything, no matter how it is compared, they still both weigh a ton.
