Last week I changed my password here on myLot because another member suggested I do so because of the trolls that were running around lately. So, to be safe, I did. But, ever since then whenever I leave myLot & then come back I have to log-in again. Before I changed my password, I rarely ever had to log back in. This is really frustrating and I don't know why all of a sudden this is happening or how to fix it. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Jill

The same thing happened to me. I know if we are logged in then no one else can log into our account at the same time. I'm also having another problem I've neve had before when I type many of the letters I type are not showing up as well as spaces. I have words running together. I have no idea what is causing this as I've never had the problem before.

That is usually how it is with my computer too Lakota12. But now, it is happening just about every single time I close myLot and then open it again either by going to it directly or through my e-mail notifications. It is really frustrating and slows me down tremendously when I'm trying to respond to discussions, etc.

I've never changed my password here, I have it where Mylo remembers me. The only time I have to log in is when I clear my cookies and defrag my computer. I hope you get it figured out, you asked the right people here. There are some computer savy people here. Goodluck.

So far that has not happened to me but that's not saying it might not. One thing I do know though, when you first signed in with your new password you see a small box and if you mark that box then you will have to sign in each time, that is for people who use it at work or shares computer with others and don't want them to get into their mylot. See if you might have checked that and if so then uncheck it and see if that helps.

Glad you are not having trouble tyc415. I have never checked that box but maybe I should and see what happens. Even though the box isn't checked maybe if I check it it will fix my problem. Don't know why it would but maybe I should give it a shot.

Yep, it's happening to me, too. I also changed my password right before this began. I've noticed that it's more of a "timed" thing, though. If I have long responses, I'm booted right out of myLot. I've learned to copy all my responses before hitting the submit button because I never know when I'll be logged out. Hopefully, this is just a temporary problem because, I totally agree, it is QUITE frustrating!

I WISH I could copy & paste here on myLot but I haven't reached that level yet in order to have the privaledge. :( It is really frustrating in cases like this because all I want to do is not have to re-type everything over again if it is lost.

Have you got cookies disabled? That's how the site recognises you and logs you in automatically. (It does me anyhow) I never have to log in since I started.
4 Mar 09
That would do it. If you changed your password the site would set a new cookie.

I never used to have this problem until I changed my password last week. I will check out the cookies issue, like you said and if that might be the problem. Thanks!

Hi koal, I know you will get great ideas from other member, I am so sorry for dropping and can't contribute anything to that problem. I am even thinking of changing my passwords too because I heard this few times already!

I have never had that problem because I've never changed my password. Do you use Firefox? It will remember those things for you. Is there a "remember me?" box? I know how frustrating this is, and I wish we didn't even need passwords.

There is not a "remember me" box, unfortunately. I use Internet Explorer and never had any problems before until I changed my password. Weird

I would try to contact Mylot and see if they could help you with it.. I don't ever have to log-in, it just goes to my page when I answer a discussion in an email.. I did however, have to log in everytime for awhile after Mylot made some changes but it went away after awhile and things got back to normal.. I hope you get it fixed as that can be a big pain in the behind..

Hi DonnaLawson - Yes, it is a big pain in my behind! Very annoying & frustrating because it reallyyyy slows me down when I'm replying to discussions, etc. I hope it stops soon. I might just take your advice & contact myLot to see if they have any suggestions to fix this problem. Thanks!

What is a troll? I have heard people in here before talking about trolls. The only trolls i know of are the troll dolls with the big hair.

I don't know... but, I think people like that are just horrible. They obviously have nothing better to do with their time than make other people's lives miserable!

I dont understand what they gain from that? Are they trying to steal what little we earn here?

hello koalatbs, i have not encountered this problem in mylot. are there really trolls that run around? and they log in to our accounts? how are they able to that? my apologies as I am really clueless, and this is the first time i heard of such incident.

Hi Ysabel - Yes, it has been really frustrating. I do not have any idea how these so-called trolls mess with our accounts. I do not think this is a troll issue, just some kind of glich with my account or something. I e-mailed myLot admin to see if they can help me but I have not heard back from them yet, hopefully soon. Glad you hear that you aren't haven't any problems like mine. Jill

It's happening to me too. I think it's maybe another idea from MyLot, to try to make it safer for us. That way a troll can't take over our account while we're gone. I just figure it's a safety measure, so I try to cope with it. I need the patience anyway...lol

I guess it could be a safety message but it is frustrating. From the replies here though it is not happening to everybody so if it was a new security measure on myLots part, wouldn't it be happening to everybody who is a member?

Oh my, it was a very shocking experience to you then. I haven't got any problems like that, for now. I am very much careful on securing my system so i suggest you also delete some cookies on your pc or if you have a cleaner, better install it. Actually this week is my fourth week, so far so good and i don't have any problems with regards to signing in and logging out and also the amount of pay. But the first problem i questioned before was my points being deducted, that is where i found out that, some topics getting deleted here and some have disobeyed the rule so they deleted the forum too. Anyway hope your password is protected now. Happy Mylotting!

I think this same thing was happening to me waaay back. If I remember correctly and I have to say I'm a bit vague, either I changed my password back to what it was or the system just stopped booting me out. I think there is a glitch in the system because they are trying to block certain users who are abusing the site.

Hi MsTickle - I HOPE it is just a glich and gets fixed really soon because it is driving me up a wall! LoL

Hi koalatbs, i would ask mylot admin about it as you shouldn't to keep loggin everytime, its just ridiculous. Hope things will get sorted out soon. Tamara

Which browser are you using? The suggestion about clearing out your cookies might help and using a cleaner. I use CCleaner, it might be fairly aggressive so uncheck anything you do not want to disappear. It will clear cookies, temp files, passwords, index.dat file and lots of other stuff of a personal nature. I have been having problems with saving passwords on Firefox lately. I wonder if it a change for security, the probelm is all these security checks tend to be a pain in the rear end.

I forgot tom mention you might want to get a password manager. I cannot recommend one as I have been using an old copy of Roboform that was free and I am too cheap to get the new version. The new version works with both IE and FF but the old version only works with Firefox.

hi koalatbs, I think its usual. you have to login in every 15-20 mins. Cause of mylot security. I am logging mylot in every 20 mins.Cause same time i am also visiting other sites and pages. I am doing this since i joined to mylot. But if you are active online on mylot and not visiting other sites same time. It keeps on login. I mean active in lot page do not need to re-log in. have a good friday.

i was writing a discussion and then suddenly the page changed and made my entire writing lost. sometime forward or reverse i see back my story but sometime i dont.

That has happened to me before too ahsn12k4. It is really annoying when that happens because then you have to re-type everything, trying to remember exactly what you wrote in the first place. You are right, sometimes by using the forward or back buttons it will bring the information back but not always.
