Would you spend it on fun things? Would you save it? Would you take a pleasure cruise? Would you pay off debt? If I had five thousand dollars today. I would pay all bills off and save most of it. I may treat us all to a small vacation as well. What would you do?

I would use it as a down payment for a House. We are in the process of buying our first home. So everything is going to that...

If I had $5000. I'd pay off my two higher interest credit cards. I don't know that I'd have any left but if I did it wouldn't be much and I used it at the store for food. No matter what's left we could use the food. The pantry is getting quite empty.

Actually I did have $5000, though it was a year and a half ago. My husband and I had been saving up for a car. We figured once we reached this amount we'd be able to find a good reliable used car. I looked around on the net and found a vehicle I was interested in. A man and his wife came over and dropped the car off so my husband and I could check it out. Other than some minor cosmetic imperfections the car was perfect and it drove beautifully. So my husband and I bought it.
About 6 months later the car stopped running right. Here we spent all this money on it and now it just sits in the drive way. Talk about depressing. Oh well, it was a learning experience to say the least.
If I ever get to save up that amount again I'll probably just want to save it.

Converted to our currency here in the Philippines that's a pretty big amount of money. I don't have much debt but so I would use a small portion of it to make sure I didn't have any more debt. I would rent out the place at the bottom of my house (something I've wanted to do for a while) so that I could set up the food business I was planning and set aside 6 months of rent money to make up for the break-even time period. I'd still have a little bit of money and I'd use that to take my family out for a meal and a short visit to the province.

I would use it to get our bills caught up, and then keep it in the checking account to keep us financially afloat until my husband gets back to work. This way we would have money to pay some of our bigger bills when they come up. Or if big expense comes up all of the sudden. I hate those.

If I have five thousand dollars in my pocket, i'd use it to open up a mini gadget shop.. then i'd pay off my debts, condo rental, association dues, electricity and water bills, etc.. then i'd buy medicines for myself, for my mom, for my grandparents and for my uncle.. then i'd put the rest on the bank.. you know, five thousand dollars can change one's life.. =) so i'm hoping to have that amount of money to start a new life..=)

I would save 4,000 of it and take 1,000 to go on a trip! My usual response would be to just save all of it, but I'm in a mood to travel and get away from the winter, so a nice long vacation sounds well worth $1,000 right now!

Well, I'd pay off some of the small bills that are more of a hassle to have than anything. Put a few hunderd back for a rainy day. Fill my truck and car all the way up, lol.. They aren't used to this half tank stuff. Buy a few needed things for my kids, husband and self, and then actually go out to dinner instead of cooking every day and night, lol.. Selfish as that may sound, that's what i'd do.

God wouldn't that be nice.... I would end up putting it towards the debt to make it easier on my family to get by day to day and put whatever left over towards savings but in a shoe box in my backyard just in case we get any deeper! =]
Though a cruise would be fantastic right now!

STOCKS TRADING ~ I will look for a stock that equivalent to one lot (1000 units) for that some value of money for my long term investment. Although, for a cheap category of stocks but I believe it will give me an exponential growth of earnings in May 2010. From $5,000 it could be $50,000 next year, just wait for the founder of that stock's company plays their "jump start" tricks.
Floating loss in stocks trading is a normal thing for me. But, am happy because on cash basis and not taking credit margin facility(CMF). If I use CMF, I can buy stocks up to the credit limit for $50,000 ~ no way ~ I will no longer buying stocks using CMF during this global economy slump, because it not just burden me with its interest bearing, but, if that stock having floating loss where should I find money to pay back the credit balance for $45,000 after 14 days?. So, better 1:1 cash transaction. Jun 2010 would be my holiday time...LOL!

If I won five thousand dollars at random, I would do several things with it. I would first put half of it away in the bank, because that's what I do. For the rest of it, however, I would plan an elaborate trip. Either I would go on a road-trip of some sort across my own country of America, or I would head out to Europe for a summer and backpack my way around (something I've wanted to do for quite a while). Then I would likely continue life as normal.

That is easy! I'd pay off my 2 doctor bills and use the rest to help pay off my vet bill I have because of my horse! That is what I'd with $5,000.00!

sadly 5,000. today is like a million to us today...LOL, truly almost non-existant, but I would pay off our debt and put some away to save and then go out to eat at a really nice restaurant....LOL, we havent been out to eat in months and I truly miss that, it was something we did once a week and since our budget got really tight we had to stop that... so that is what I would do.
