how you and your partner/gf/bf meet?

Hi myra, I don't know if my answer will qualify but I won't be talking about how I met my exes. They're so in the past and those are the things that I don't wanna dwell on. I wanted to talk about this girl I'm courting. How we met and how I fell in love with her. We're not "us" yet but I'm very much hoping. Well, way back in college, 7 years ago, I met this girl who was so different from anybody else I know. She was boyish, and didn't know the first thing about dressing up. She isn't so pretty really like my exes but I could say she really hit me. I gotta say I didn't miss any activity that she involved herself in: from her basketball games, to cheerleading contests, I witnessed them all. I courted her back then but she kept dumping me. We didn't see each other for a long time. Yes, seven years. And in that span of time, I have met several girls, loved them and broke up with them. I thought my being in Manila was going to be nothing but hell for me but I encountered her again here. I realized I still felt the same for her. This time around she has transformed into a lady. And she agreed on a date, finally! She's cuter and prettier now. She's less shy. And the best thing is, she never had a boyfriend ever! But she's still a bit distant. She doesn't even want me to text her. Do you think I should push through with my plans of courting her?

Well its funny you ask that question. It was my B - day and My husband that I met. Nephew called me random, He said you may be interested in talking to my uncle I said ok. So I was sick on my b-day. I talked to his uncle for hours. Took the day off work we talked off and on for hours that day. I waqs at work we text for hours back and forth. We had so much in common it was almost like we knew each other. Like it was ment to be. So he told me about some skills he had. At the time my brother was working on a bathroom for my mom and he said he done drywall and plumbing before so I asked him if he would mind helping my brother out. The first day we met was incredible we didnt want to leave each other we had that sparkle in our eye. Whats funny is the first day we eventually met was the day he helped my brother. He also met my parents for the first time also. 4 months later we got married and still are married its been a year and we are still best of friends forever. So its funny that it took a random call.

i do agree. reminiscing old days keeps that loving feeling between you and your significant other. how did we meet? he's a snob and I'm a friendly geek back in college. i like befriending people and he was one of those people who got those "how do you do today?" questions. I'm not his type and he's not my type. but, end of second semester we hit it off. it was just now that i learned we both have the same thing in mind that end of second year second semester in college, once we enter 3rd year in college, we won't be seeing each other that often or worse we won't be seeing each other at all. and we have the same dilemma. honestly i planned to propose to him but he proposed ahead of me. good thing he did, we couldn't have been together if i proposed earlier. LOL

advance happy anniv friend. Hubby and I met in a hotel where we both were employees. He is the silent type of guy and I was the most jolly person in our department. I always joked about him to everyone in our office that he's the guy that I'm going to marry. It took me 4 years of courting him (lol) before he gave in and said what the heck (lol). Now, we've been together for five years and we have 1 very special gift from God (our son). And I'm glad that I started the joke...

nirds and i are officemates before. we were shopping and movie and coffee buddies then. until the magical moment comes (hahaha). he saved me from my stalker ex boyfriend. hehehe. we become closer everyday. hahaha :D thanks :D

Wow! Congratulations. By God's grace, I and my wife will actually celebrate our third anniversary this April also. We met in Zambales thru a church friend, during my birthday party. After 3 years as bf/gf, we got married in Mindanao, and transferred in Visayas where we are not currently enjoying our family life.

My hubby was a roomate of a guy I was dating at the time. The guy I was dating ended up being an awesome JERK. Long story short, I got a much better end of the deal. Almost 14 years later we are married, 2 kids etc. And I look forward to him getting home daily, dread him leaving for work. HE is the ONE.

me and my other met on new years eve about 6 years ago when I got into a fist fight and beat his than wife up lol lol nothing to do with him I met him after the fight we got together 3 years after that I was not the cause of him and his wife spliting up I would never wreck a marriage but yeah we met over a fight!

Hello, I have to be honest that I was not even going to read your discussion nor respond because my story is a very long one but when I saw that you said that April 3rd is your anniversary, I decided to stop and read anyways. My in-laws anniversary is that same day too. As for my hubby and I when we met we were 16 and in high school. We knew each other a little but it was only as acquaintances so we did not know a whole lot about each other. So one night there was a football game, I of course went being a big time football fan and a big redneck girl. After the game there was a dance and my cousin came up to me and told me to follow him. So I did and I was thinking what now. That is when he interduced me to his friend who is now my hubby. Then my cousin said OK now you 2 need to go out there on the dance floor and dance. So we did, I have to say it was really romantic. Then before the night ended we started dating of course we took it slow because we did not know a whole about each other. But not even 1 year later we broke up because stuff started to go to fast. So we went our own ways and did not speak or saw each other. Then 4 years later we ran into each other. I of course all of sudden got that glow in my eye's. We started talking and a friend of mine who was my boyfriend at one time got me and my hubby back together at the time. I of course was scared that it was not going to work because I had 2 children from a previous relationship. But here we are married going onto 4 years on Sept. 19th. We have 2 beautiful boys together and my other 2 children from my previous relationship. When we got married, we were only together for 4 months. We got married for many reasons. First reason was because we did not want to lose each other again. Plus we were expecting our first son. Now we are so happy and also very much in love. I would not change the way it all happened if I had a chance to. Because in the long run I still got to be with my first love and true love.

i've been married for about 2 1/2 yrs. my hubby and i actually met years ago when we were little (tho we don't remember it very much). our moms were best friends (and still are good friends).... hadn't seen each other for a few years, and then when he was 18, and i was 14 or so, we re-met (tho we still didn't know at this point about our moms) through my sisters friends boyfriend.... nothing ever came of that. and then 3 yrs ago, low and behold, i had a HUGE crush on the cute boy next door to my friend and i. we met again lol, through a friend of mine, and through this time meeting, we found out our "history". we couldn't believe it, and neither could our parents. but from the night we met, we've been inseparable!!! it's been a great 2 1/2 years, and we have a beautiful son together, and i couldn't ask for more happiness!! congrats on your being together, may you have many more happy years!!

The way my hubby and I met was weird. I knew his ex-wife and 2 oldest kids and he knew my oldest son long before we ever met. We were in the same shopping center (the stores right next to one another) and we never met or even saw each other. My aunt is dating his step-father (his mom passed away when he was 15) and he was just out of a divorce and living in my state with his step-dad. I went over to look for a job with my cousin and he was sleeping on the couch...instantly, love at first sight! We stayed up for 72 hours straight just talking and just became an item. Five years later we are still together and happier than ever.

well if me and my bf were together till today then even i would have celebrted my third year with him today well we met as usual on net and then we met together to kknow each other well we were too close then and really understood each other and shared most of the things but somethings which went wrong made us far from each other, and i dont have much feeling left for him though. but yes this was the way how we met

myralmedo that's sweet. I wish those day's would come back once more. I'm divorce for long time now and my kids are now 24 & 20 me feeling the empty nest a little although they at home and around, that I would like to find my still prince charming I know he exist. My kids say wont just fall into my lap if I never go any where. However I do believe in chance meetings. Many more happy years to you guys!

My husband and I meet 26 years ago. I was staying at a friends and he was baby sitting his aunts kids. My friend and I watched them off and on too. My friend and I decided to go for a walk and he literally ran right past me chasing his cousin. He stopped a few feet from me and stared. I couldnt stand him at first! LOL! On the other hand he said he knew I was the one for him. LOL To make a long story short he got my number from his cousin and kept pestering me until I gave in. He was 14 and I was 16, 2 years later we were married. It is now going on 24 years of marriage (April 13). We renewed our vows, April 14th of 2008 too. Many kids and grandbabies later we are still in love and yes he was right not only was I the one for him, he was most definite the ONE FOR ME! I love my hubby!!

I met the father of my kid in high school. We were in the same class during our second year; we were both fourteen years old. The first time I laid my eyes on him I knew that he would be an important part of my life. Nine years after we met, it came true. We got together and we now have a beautiful daughter.

Actually while my now ex husband & I were separated, I met my boyfriend online in a game called SecondLife.com We carried on an online relationship for almost a year before I flew out from Hawaii to Kansas to meet him. I stayed for 12 days and we realized that the spark we had online carried over into our real lives. Two months later I moved from Hawaii to Kansas to be closer to him. :)
