In the aftermath of yesterdays vote that killed HCR 6 a resolution affirming state's rights under Jeffersonian principals, the gallery of the state house erupts in to pandemonium, with cat calls, shouts and even a death threat. Any one doubting how important this resolution was to us, need look no further than this or the massive demonstration in front of the state house and on nearly every corner of our state capitol. Some may claim this is uncalled for and unruly mob mentality, but you must understand how sick and tired we are as a people up here of contstant federal intrusion in to our state business. We are feeling quite betrayed today by our house of nonrepresentation and this video will give you an idea of how important this was to us and that the normal channels of redress and remedy are no longer functioning, even in the free granite state.

wow if that was the crowd after they had calmed down then I take it was crazy there for a few minuates. Have any of the reps. released any kind of statement about this or why they voted against it sence this happened? If I were you guys I would keep protesting, keep their phones ringing off the hooks and when they come up for re-election....get them out of office.
Boy am I glad I live in state that has reps that really support this bill. I really have not had a fight on my hands. It went through committe without any issues and should sail through voting without a problem.
You are guys are in for a fight if you want this bill. Keep TONS of preasure on them. They like their cushy jobs....they will cave in if faced with a recall or the possibility of lossing it.

What gets me lil is they don't actually have a cushy job. We are one of the only states, if not THE only state to have a citizen legislature. We have the highest citizen represenation in the country, nearly 400 represenatives in our legislature in 2 houses. the legislatures do not do this as a regular job, it isn't their carreer and the compensation for it is only around several hundred dollars a year, they all have regular jobs or own businesses.

I don't live in NH so I'm not affected by the vote, but I did find the link that shows what the actual HCR 6 looks like for people interested in reading the entire thing.

This efefcts everyone actually, the more states that get this passed, the more weight it carries. I posted the resolution in another thread but thanks for posting it again. this is similar to a resolution being considered now in 20 states.

Unfortunately this isn't something the propaganda machine (main stream news) is talking about very much, that may well be why it is having such a hard time getting through and it is probably no accident.
To the education issue, I understand your concern, but I believe the problem with our education system is largely that the federal government HAS gotten involved. It added layers of rediculously expensive and complex beurocrocy and with it, came agenda. Education has gone from education to indoctrination and skewed ciriculum and is directly responsable for the mindless masses who are completely oblivious to not only the propper role of government and the rightfull structure of it, but also to the great importance the propriety of that limited role is to our daily lives and our liberties and ecomnomics.

I didn't realize it was in 20 states already. Though, I take news fasts from time to time so I don't always catch up until I'm done. (Keeps my mind healthy). I'll have to research and see if it is being considered here in MN or not. Right now our big concern in our state is that this year they are planning for 70K layoffs in 2009 across the state to cut budgets. That means 1350 each week! On a single income we're very concerned about that.
I'm a supporter of the Federalist Papers, but I'm a bit leary as to if this type of democracy could indeed function in today's society. I mean, have we come too far? Are people responsible enough? I suppose I'm a bit torn as a teacher because I don't want to loose the backing of the Federal government when it comes to IEP's. For now, I'm able to look at a teacher and advise them they best follow the IEP. Does that make sense? Anyhow, please keep us posted on this and what you have. I'm rather new to Mylot so I'm still finding articles, etc and trying to learn how to navigate here.

Here's a bit that I noticed: The coats a few of those fellas showed that their hearts lay in the USA and that's why they were there. That people know they are the ones who should have a say. And that politics has a sport- back peddling.
*tips hat* Great link!
