I love the winter as it brings a lot of beauty with the wnow, icicles, and ice crystals. It's been above freezing lately and the snow on my roof has been melting. This iceicle looks like some kiond of ugly fork or salad serving implement. I love it. Soon I will be planting things indoor for my garden as well. Come on Sprinbg! Are you ready for spring and all the beauty that comes with that season as well? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I've other discussions prepared about my garden plans as well in May. I laid compost before the ground thawed but never kept making it through the fall and winter. My bin sits empty. Good to see you in here once again as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

yes, let us all do the planting. it is good for us as the activity promotes health and also, it promotes the care for the environment which has gone critical these days. since i am located in a different climatic zone, planting can be a daily activity for me. i have some potted plants seated in front of our apartment. at this time, i am looking forward to finding a better place to reside. i want an area where i can have more plants. the space that we have right now for the pots is much too small. happy planting, xboxboy.

Spring has sprung in south Texas and the pollen is horrible. My son just come in with 2 new hummingbird feeders and a pot plant of really pretty flowers to attract the birds. It is time down here for the hummingbirds to start coming around again.

I keep looking at my garden beds which are in need of cleaning and tilling etc as well. Soon I'll start seeds indoors. I can't plant outdoors till Mid to late May due to the frost and frozen soil here in Minnesota. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I think we are still behind our normal amount of snow for this time of year though. We just haven't had this much snow for quite a few years is all. Not really all that much for us in reality this year. Just seems that way is all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I've areas with plastic tarps laid out to kill of the grass etc for future garden beds that need to be cleared, dug up, turned and or tilled. A lot of work in store for me in a couple months time. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

In the low 40's here right now which is way warm for March 5th. I think our normal temp is around 33 or less. I can't plant outside till mid or late May though until the ground is thawed and frost threats are past. But will be planting seeds indoors soon. Maybe this weekend. oh, yes. for you, the end of wintertime only signals the coming in of spring. from various readings, i have learned that you people who experience winter, are always looking forward to the breaking in of springtime. hence, those happy songs about spring. it is true that when ice melts, sorts of figures and odd looking things are formed until the whole thing is finally totally melted. many of us in the community are looking forward to your sensitivity to changes in nature as they occurred. thanks for sharing this experience with us, once again webeishere.

I am ready for spring. I am not working so I will be able to enjoy it. I don't know how much enjoyment because I will be broke. But I am going to make the most of it. I will not know how to act with having day time to enjoy without being tired.

I cannot wait for spring it is my favorite season all the bulbs pushing up through the dirt earth and all the little baby birds playing in the garden. All the young rabbits hopping around. The new buds coming on the shrubs and flowers. The lighter evenings where you can stay in the garden. It snowed again last night and we had ice all over the garden the trains could not run,so it is stop start this year and I am straining at the leash to get in the garden but I would do more harm than good at the moment,so I am spring cleaning the house instead we have decorated the down stairs so that is clean, cupboards in kitchen are the next thing to do,then it is the wardrobes to clear out,all the curtains are washed so I am getting there.

This icicle looks like a montrous claw, like a comment said at the image! Good thing you're not superstitious! Then again how intimidating can it be seeing as it's probably already melted! - Yes I am looking forward to spring.. we're thinking a bigger garden this year, what with the economy being testy..

I am temporarioy staying with my Mom and they didn't get the winter they usually do and now it is gtting hotter and dry. This proves to me that I can't live in this state. I honestly do not understand how anyone does. Ido know alot of peopl that liv in areas where there is real winter with lots of snow and bitter cold. I bet all of those people are moe than ready for the spring. The renewal of plants, and fruits and roses and sunflowers. Yea spring is a goodthing.

I am so ready for spring, well...I am so ready for summer! I am ready for the warmer temps, days at the beach, walks in the park and summer picnics! I have never really been a winter person, although there are a few activities that I enjoy doing in the winter like sledding, but it sure doesn't compare to the activities that I love in the summertime.
