How Many of You Clip or Print Coupons?

Okay, we all know how bad the economy is, money if available is tight, and meals have gone through many changes. Do you clip or print coupons. Now I live in a tiny town, the newspaper comes out once a week. You don't get the coupon booklets in any of the papers like I did when I lived in WI or IL. That was a big thing to me on sundays going through the coupons. I would clip out the good ones, for a buck or more off something I used. But most of them, 25cents off a purchase of three or four just isn't worth it to me. I have found that I can save more going with the store brand or a generic even if I used the coupon on name brands. The taste for most things are the same. Not all things. Then I printed out some coupons and I've found alot of stores won't except them. I've seen the programs where people go shopping with a ton of coupons and the store ends up owing them money! I don't get it! When I do find a store that does double coupons, there is a price limit and a limit of only three coupons. HOW DO YOU SAVE AT THE GROCERY STORE? What do you think of these online "free samples"? Has anyone actually found a FREE site. I did find that Kashi did actually offer a free coupon for a free frozen dinner that was really free. Now they want you to pay for the shipping of a "free" sample. For what they want to charge for shipping I could go to the store and buy a full size product and try. Okay, I think I'm done ranting, any suggestions?

My fiance and I also live in a small town where the paper only comes out once a week. We get a newspaper from the next county though, so well, we don't, but his mom does... clip coupons and such. I think that free things can be free, not so much the coupons for something you get over the internet and then go to the store and buy, but I've seen a few totally free things, I don't mess with them generally for the most part and as a rule but have gotten a few things in the past! Hope your doing well, and making the most here, Have a wonderful day!

I clip everything and then go through them to see if I can actually use them. You are right that most generics are cheaper than brand with a discount and you can't really taste the difference. Anyway, I go to the dollar store, (which is no longer a dollar store since they've raised their prices), but its still cheaper than the store. I stock up on canned items, packaged noodles, soups etc. I'll usually search online for coupons on items I need that week and see if I can find any coupons. There are a lot of sites with free samples, including Walmart but you don't get the stuff for 4-6 weeks and they all start sending you junk mail, so if you do that, you'll need to open an e-mail you don't use., Try Yesall4free.com ,
Walmart.com/freebies, Heyitsfree.com and Dealoftheday.Com. You might find something you'll want to try. Good Luck

In australia, if you go shopping in supermarket or retail department store for more than 30 bucks, you will get a fuel voucher... entitles you to a discount of 4cents...
I usually very religiously keep this coupon :P It may not be much... maybe around 2 or 3 dollars per my fuel tank... but still
Its not like Im wasting the money, since I am doing the grocery shopping till 30 bucks anywayse hehehe

I have to admit I'm pretty serious about my couponing and my freebies. If you're able to get coupons, it helps a lot more than you think. I'm always getting freebies that way; just a couple days ago, I got nine pairs of No Nonsense pantyhose, three 2-bar packs of Olay soap, and seven bottles of trial-size Axe shower gel for free. When I go back to the store this week, I'll get another trial-size Axe shower gel, a Vitamin water, a can of cat food, and a couple packages of Kotex pantiliners - all free! That's not counting any other coupons I may find and use. It's really very helpful if you can get coupons and match them with sales.

I was thinking about this the other day. I am not working anymore and I was looking at the Oprah Show and she and her guests were talking about ways to save money and live with less expenses. One lady went shopping and her groceery bill total over a hundred dollars, after the coupons were added she come out of there paying only 43.00 for over a hundred dollars worth of groceries. Now I wonder if I can do that.

I clip and pint coupons all the time now. I never really did before, but a friend showed me a few things that really do help. Even though I save with coupns, I plan to "spend" that money anyhow. I plan to looka t my receipt, see how much I saved and pout no less than half that amount away for the future. It iss just a small part of my plan to save for retirement.

I do clip coupons a lot.
I started only a couple of months ago, by browsing the ebay for deal.I found coupons for sale. All kind.
Then I started to check online for coupons, deals, samples. It took me quite a while, but at the end I found a good site that gives free samples (no S&H required), and also a forum where the members are posting deals and places they got the deals, all the details.
They also trade coupons and let others know which store has what coupons.
I started to go once a week to every big store in town and check if they have coupons and take quite a few. I started to trade and now I have enough to lower the price of my shoppings(mostly groceries and beauty).
I printed a few, but more and more places refuse to take the.
So, I just have the real ones, manufacturer ones, and I check every week what's on sale.
The best deal is when they have a sale and you also use the coupon.
Like, for example, this week.
The Dawn dish sopa, the small one (325 ml) is on sale for $0.88.With my coupon for $0.50 off, I get it with $0.38.
I keep all the coupons sorted by categories(cereals & snacks, juice, yougurt, soups, etc), all the time in my purese.
When I find something worth and need buying, I find the coupon easily.
Good luck!

I try to clip and use coupons but I dont always get to, We are living on basic foods a month because we both got laid off, and cant find any jobs in our area, the state wont give us food stamps becuase we make too much on employment but htey take half of my hubbys check for child support and they will not count that as a deduction so we are a family of 4 living on 1000$ a month and out rent is $500 so coupons could hlep us out alot i should do more of it.

i clip coupons.. well atleast i try. sometimes it just doestn't work out for me though... i wish there was a double coupon thing here. i'd sure like to be like that lady on tv who comes out with $500 worth of groceries and pays $20 or even get money back. lol. the coupons i usually see are the ones in the newspaper. and those are usually $0.35 or if your lucky a buck. i've been training myself to use those when those specific items go on sale.. but its hard. i'm not sure if i'm cut out for that. on the free samples i have been to those totally free sites and i'm waiting for the samples to come. i never send shipping n handling. i think anything to save is worth it. whether its a few cents or a dollar. hey, money is money...

I shop at Shaw's who doubles coupons that are up to 99 cents. I cut coupons from the newspaper but there are not as many as there used to be. My biggest savings has been from purchasing coupons on ebay. The coupons are cheap and shipping is typically free or reasonable. I recently purchased 20 50 cent Green Giant Select coupons for $1.04 with free shipping and was able double them and participate in a Shaw's 10 for $10.00 sale and get everyone of them for free. I went back and purchased 15 $1.00 coupons for .99 with .42 cents shipping and was able to get each bag for .49 since the sale was over and the expiration date of 2/28 was near. The best free offer I have seen on the internet is baby formula where you can receive five to seven checks worth denominations of $5, $7 and $10 to be used for the purchase of Enfamil. I have also seen those for sale on ebay but they can be found and obtained for free on the net.

I print off coupons and I clip out of the Sunday paper. My grocery store and my walmart will take the printed coupons but I do know that some won't. Which I think is ridiculous. If there is something you use a lot of then go to ebay some people sell coupons they have clipped. So you can get like 10 $1.00 coupons for $1 plus shipping. Can work out well. I also found that Walmart.com offers free samples--I have gotten several of them that are actually free. Also hit up the websites of products you use like proctor and gambol and other sites like that, usually they all have email newsletters that they send out monthly and some of them feature coupons in them (some of which they will even mail to you).

I do still clip coupons, but I don't end up using them as much as I used to. Now there seems to be a generic or store brand in every variety of food and as you noted they are usually cheap than name brand with a coupon. Sometimes I've found the name brand on sale, then with the coupon it is a better deal.
walmart.com has a page of free samples that are really free. They are just sample size of course. I've gotten a single serve cereal and a granola bar from them.
