I am a mom - to - be. My greatest fear is that I do not fulfill what I should do as a mom, that I will fail as a role model. I will be a working mom and im sure i dont get the chance to be with my daughter everyday. My fear is that she would prefer the nanny over me.

My fear is the same. I fear I will fail as a parent and be a bad mother. Nothing could be worse for me then to fail my kids.

First of all - Congratulations! Secondly - I am a working mom and there are some days I do feel that I failed because I'm not with my son all day. However I hold fast to the belief that I am working so he can have a good life and I'm sure that's what you are doing also. Concentrate on yourself and your baby right now. Live in the now and you'll always do what's right for your children!

Congratulation on the upcoming new arrival! Your fears are normal so don't worry too much about them. I was terrified the whole time I was pregnant the first time. Would I know what to do...how to take care of the baby? What if he cried? Would I be a good mom...would he love me? Fast forward 31 years...I'm mom to four and have many grandchildren. They all think I'm pretty great. Your child will love you because you will be mommy and she will know who you are and who the nanny is. Spending time with your baby...holding her, rocking her, taking care of her will form a bond between the two of you that is very special. I'm sure you will be a great role model because you're worried about not being a good one. Bad role models don't care.
