Truthfully, if I may say so myself, I think I might be a born writer. But one thing about me is that I am to lazy to write books. I start like the first 3 pages then I either suddenly feel my idea was a bad one, or I just stop writing and then later feel my idea was a bad one. I think that if I put a bit more effort into writing, I could make some good things. Do any of you feel that way?

Dear Sanja, why dont you write a plot first? Or write a shorter version of the story within the 3 pages. Then you can expand the short stories into a much longer version when you are strike by inspiration.
It's a waste if you have the idea, the talents and yet nothing to show to the world. Please do write.
I am not a born writer, just an ordinary folk who enjoys writing. I dont think I will have the determination to publish a book. All of my articles are written within a day.

Yes, I do agree if you stick to it, you will make great achievements. One of my dreams is to be a writer when I have nothing to worry about. At that time, I will travel around the world and write everything I see and care about. So I think I am a born writer. Everyone is a born writer. We just need to put much more effort to our goals, then we will get much. Wish you good luck on your way to be a famous writer. :)

Thanks for the good luck! What you wrote is SOO true. I haven't really thought about that. Thank you for enlightening me on something that I could devote my life to!

I will always be a writer, because I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I have never written a book, no do I ever intend to write one.
I write every day. I have written hundreds of articles over the past twelve months and they all appear on the Internet. I have written more than enough to fill a book.
If you only want to write fiction your options are more limited, but there are some writing websites where you can submit short stories.
I have previously worked in print publishing, and in bookselling, and I know that anything published on the Internet can be read by more people around the world than anything published in a book or a magazine.

maybe u just arent getting the ideas right now. try some writing exercises or read different books and magazines. go out in life and take notes of what u see. maybe u need more experiences in order to create interesting work.
reading a lot helped me with my writing. and i wrote my first novel in 2003. now i want to draw my graphic novel, but i need to rewrite the script before i continue drawing it.

I don't know if I am a born writer, but I do enjoy it and did get my degree in journalism. I do have the same problem as you, though. I have a tough time following through on my ideas. I guess maybe I need more confidence that are my ideas are good and that I can write.

A writer writes. I don't think that there is such a thing as a born writer but I do think that some people are born with a talent to write but the bottom line is that it doesn't matter how talented one is if they don't sit down and do the work. IMHO writing is much more of a discipline than it is anything else. You have to be committed to your project and follow through. I think that what you need to do is follow through with the story even if it is a bad one. You have to get past three pages or you will always be a born unpublished writer. Best of luck to you.

um me too, I'm not a born writer, and not even an American, meaning that English isn't my main language, but still I studied proper grammar and am writing stories that I post on the net.
I'm still on the learning phase, I'm applying what I've learned. Don't stop writing because it's fun!
