Hi mylot-ers,
I have been to the hospital when i was 3 years old, i remembered i stayed there for few days. I had trouble with my respiratory tract, i think i was not able to breath properly and every night, i will have trouble to breath and they think that i was an asthmatic person, my body was thin, very thin compare to now... ahhahah. i asked my mom and she said that when i was born, i was smaller than my sister...
Everynight, my mom will put a solution in my nose by using a plastic pipete that already packed together with the drugs. The tase of the drug is awful because its bitter when it passing through my nose to pharynx... Owh... its so yucks...
But when i already 3 years and more, i have no problem with my breathing anymore. so i stop get treatment from that solution. I dont know what is the drug btw, i just dont want to remember it.
The second time i was admitted in the hospital when i was in secondary high. its acute git disorder but later on the doctor found out that i have no trouble with my git. I lost my appetite at that time... in the room there;s two beds there. At first the room is occupied by me and a girl who is elementary at that time. Few days after, i was shock, that my friend "a cute guy in my class" also admitted at the same room. His aunt is the doctor in this section in hospital. He got dengue... He was shy with me... He even too shy to say hello... whats wrong with this guy? hello???
One time, when he just lying down and his father was there, his father talked to him and said "is that girl your crush?" i could hear it clearly... and he was shy and gave such movement that he didnt want me to know what his father talked about...ahahha... This guy now is a medical student... i wonder if i could meet him, its nice to talk about our experience being admitted in the same room... His sister also my sister's friend... and the sister is always nice to me.
The third time i was admitted because of no reason. I just admitted because my body was too weak. its was only three days and two nights... at that time, my parents werent with me... there were in hometown and the person who took care of me was the doctor-friend of mine, and my doormate, a girl who was taking masteral program in the same university. There was also the time when only the nurse around and i asked her to buy the medicine for me because i have no relatives to do so... ahaha...

I was 13 then when I was bitten by a "bloodsucker insect" called cone-nose. I woke up at night feeling like I was covered with a blanket of ants, it was so hot and itchy all over my body, and I found it hard to breathe. I realized that I might have been allergic to something. I asked for help and my mom brought me right away to the hospital. According to the doctors, I was red all over from head to foot, and was suffering from anaphylactic shock (severe allergy).
They inspected me and saw at least 5 inflamed areas/bite marks. My dad searched my room and found the culprit. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days and on oxygen.
(information from http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/IN019)
The conenose sucks blood at night while the host sleeps. It is often associated with nests of wild animals.

I was brought to the hospital back when i was still i kid. Maybe i was 7 years old or younger then. We went to my aunt's house to pay a visit. Me and my sister went to the kitchen to play on top of the table. The table was the foldable type. It folded dropping me and my sister on the ground. I hit my jaw on an open pipe creating an open bleeding wound near my throat. It bled profusely alerting my dad to bring me to the nearest hospital. I'm just glad we made it before i ran out of blood. Since then, i never visited a hospital other than check up or visit.

I have to go sometimes not in a long time to get Solomedral which is like IV steriods for my body. I have Multiple Sclrisis and it has made my body weak in the past. So I needed this so I could walk better for awhile at least. This usally seems to haven to me about once or maybe twice a year. Like last year it happened a couple of times. The right side of my body went numb and I had predizone which is oral steriods. I was glad that I didn't need to go to the hospital to have Solomedral.

I am sorry to hear that. It must be not easy at all for you to stayed in the hospital when you were only three years old. I can also imagine at that time how worried your parents would be. I am glad that you are alright now. Besides giving birth, I stayed in the hospital in July last year because of an operation. I am glad it all passed. I never like to stay in the hospital.

Hi, manya_pearl! I have been to the hospital once in my lifetime. But it was not for my birth. I went to the hospital back in 1986 I think. I fell off of my ten speed bike and a car hit me, she was driving too fast. It was a woman. And she was very sorry for hitting me. This woman lived in the same neighborhood as I . She drove a white car. I busted my head. And I had to get stiches in my scalp. It really hurt, I had blood running down my head.. I never want to experience this ever again! This is the only time that I went to the hospital besides for the birth of my three kids. I am sorry that you had to go to the hospital for your respiratory tract. I hope that you are doing much better as of now.

I have been a few times. Twice for surgeries. Once for a really bad ear infection. I was very sick. They didn't keep me there overnight, just for a few hours. Another time I went because I was injured during a softball game. Another player threw a bat and it hit me in the arm. They did x-rays but it was not broken.

I have been to the hospital six times for birth, and then two other times to have my varicose veins stripped. One time I went to the hospital at the age of 14 because I broke out in hives all over my body. The hives covered my body completely, they were not little..but great big ones. I was so scared. I got dizzy and fainted while my Mom was talking to the nurse and the Dr. The Dr. wanted me to stay in the hospital so they could run tests, but I refused. I was also scared of the Dr., he was foreign and I couldn't understand anything he was saying. He prescribed some medicine, and I went home. I broke out in hives every fall for 3 or 4 years. Sometimes, when I get nervous I break out in hives similar to those when I was 14, but not as severe as a case.
From what you write, you have been in the hospital a few times. Staying in a hospital is not fun, especially when it's for reasons other than giving birth.

I have been in the hospital a few times. I was born with a heart murmur, so when i was younger I was hospitalized for that. When I was about 8 I was put in the hospital because they thought I had cancer. I have also been hospitalized for my asthma and kidney stones before.

Twice that I remember, both during childhood. There were probably multiple stays in my infancy since my mother said I had pneumonia many times during the first year or two in my life, and she said they didn't know if I would make it.
But the first time I do remember a bit was at 3 or 4 years old with tonsillitis. I just remember getting ice cream once and sitting up to eat it.
Second time was a stomach ache that had me bent over and unable to walk at around nine years old. I don't remember if they did any surgery, I have no abdominal scars - so maybe they just had me stay overnight and gave medicine.
There was a third time I probably should have been hospitalized - my mother married an army sergeant when I was nine, and we moved to Germany. I would get high fevers on occasion that mystified the doctors. One time (I think I was 11) they told my mother to take me home and get my fever down first (!) - she brought me there because of the fever!
Fortunately there was a hospital medic living downstairs and they got the entire neighborhood to donate ice, and it was put in the bath tub. Then they told me to lie down in it. I don't remember the details, but my mother tells me it took six adult men to hold me down ...

Besides being in the hospital for my birth, I have also been to hospitals for numerous reasons. I have visited friends, relatives or family members in hospitals when they have been sick or unwell. I have also been in hospital for a minor surgery before as well (due to an injury I inflicted upon myself "unknowingly"). And, as I had been a pharmacy student too, I have been to the hospital too to undergo my compulsory placements during my final year, to familiarise myself with the clinical setting. The hospital can be a daunting place for me, but is also a place where it's packed with good and nice memories as well....

I was in the hospital when I was like 2-3 because I was dehydrated, and then again when I was 10, because I got pushed down on the playground (onto thick cement) and ended up getting bursitis, That was actually the last time I've been to any form of medical doctor other than a chiropractor. It's been about 6 years 8 months (ABOUT) since then. I'm VERY proud of this :P

I have had 2 knee surgeries and 1 miscarriage. The first knee surgery was when I was 15, I was in for over a week. The second one was when I was 17 and it was done as an outpatient. Then when I had the miscarriage it was also done as an outpatient. I beleive they need to keep you in at least overnight. My second knee surgery I was in so much pain, they only sent us home with tylenol. But I guess that the insuracne companies do not want to pay for extra nights.
