I am entering a soup cook-off this Saturday and I just can't make up my mind what soup to make. So far I have come up with California medley, Stuffed pepper soup, Clam chowder, Pasta Fagioli. Iwant to make something a little different from everybody else. Anybody have any ideas I can use? It has to be a soup that will hold well in a crockpot.

How about potato leek or ham and bean soup.
My favorite is split pea soup.

A few suggestions for you to think about: How about trying something really different, like a butternut Squash and Lentil Soup? I make this in my crockpot all the time, and it is really good! You cut up a butternut squash, add a few onions, celery and dried lentils, and use a lot of chicken stock, and for sesoning, try the spice called Advia. It has a cinnimon flavor. After I make this, I usually put it through the food processor, and it becomes a creamy and delightful soup!
