Facebook vs. Myspace

United States

Recently, many of my newest friends on myspace are music groups. This is the one thing that I like better about myspace than facebook is your ability to put videos and music on your homepage. You can put the music on facebook, but they have to click on it to play it rather than it just starting to play automatically when they go to your homepage. Do you have an account on both of these community sites? If so, which is your favorite and why?

I have both but I like Myspace better also. I have more of my friends on Myspace is way I guess and it seems like you can keep track better of stars and singers on Myspace better then Facebook.

I think my biggest drawback with Myspace is that I don't really know how to navigate. My girls helped me set a page up, and then I tried to change my e-mail they sent me a new password to the old e-mail. so now I have this whole page over there, and I Can't log into it! I started trying to create a new one, but got frustrated, and now I think I have like 6 friends....LOL

I don't have a lot of friends that I know myself. I have deleted a few that I haven't really talked to or had anything to do with them online before. i had to get a friend to set up my Myspace page also. I will I knew how to add songs on there and videos. I will proberly have to get my sister's step daughter. She is a senior in high school I am sure she can do it. Face book I'm not really sure how to set up things either.

I have both a Facebook and a Myspace account, but I don't really use the Myspace account very much. I mostly just use facebook because more of my friends use it, so I am able to keep up with more people that way. I don't have all that many friends on myspace, so I don't really use it as much. I kind of like my facebook account better for that reason, and also cause I feel like I tend to get less spam on facebook for some reason. I also had my facebook account for quite awhile before I ever joined myspace, so I guess I am probably a little more used to their setup and know my way around it better.

My big concern with myspace is that it's hard to set your profile to private. If you don't do this, anyone can see your pages, and get to your friends etc...At least with facebook, you have to be my friend to see my page.

i like facebook because all my friends and family are on there, so i can easily keep in touch with them that way. i really only have a couple of friends on myspace but i do have an account there, but i honestly cant remember the last time i was there.

That's me. All three of my kids are on facebook, and so is my husband, my aunt and a huge number of my cousins. Many of the pastor's and their wives that my husband and I socialize with all have accounts, so it's easy to stay caught up with those who don't live in the area.

I don't have an account with either of them. My daughters both have an account with myspace. I have been contemplating maybe getting one at facebook, but haven't done so yet. mylot and gather alone keep me too busy along with working full time.

I had said in the beginning I wasn't going to do either one. My kids had kind of played around with Xanga, and I remember thinking that it looked complicated and kind of scary with all the personal information. Facebook seems a little more secure, since you can set your profile to private and then only your friends can see your information.

I think I would tend to agree with you. Mainly because I know how to use it better. I love the games that you can challenge your friends to, and all the little applications. I'm a little apprehensive about downloading too many, but I have my favorites!

Lots of people do not appreciate having music shoved in their faces upon opening a page - especially if it is a song that does not really appeal to them. I have an account on both Facebook and MySpace. I used to like MySpace better, because of all the downloads that Facebook shoves in your face, but I can not say that is true any longer, because MySapce has taken the same route. I am really getting sick of it; most of those downloads are spyware and malware, etc. "Big Brother" always wants to be "all up in our Kool-aid, wanting to know what flavor we have."
