Hi All mylotter. Most of my time If I had a Os breakdown, normally I would install my whole windows xp from Scratch .That is thru the Xp original diskfollowed by the hardware driverfollowed by the software installation and typically that would take me 4hour to 5 hour to complete the task.
Recently I found out that you could install a complete windows with all the necessary software and hardware driver within 15min just by using norton Ghost.
Anyone has any idea where I could get a universal Unmodified Window Xp Sp3 ghost image with all current windows update till march 2009 + software. ?
I've been looking around but most of them are heavily modified.
Thanks

Hello fren45,You cannot get an xp ghost cd to install it.Ghosting is done from one hard disk to another hard disk with the same capacity. On one hard disk i have to install operating system with all the softwares i need.It will take me an hour. Then i will just ghost everything in another hard disk for fifteen minutes. It is used in big companies to setup computers very fast.

It is better to install X from a CD. Today we got service pack 3 of Windows XP with more revised version with security updates. It takes nearly one hour to installfrom a CD,but by using any ghost or other it may take less time as it only copies from one Hard disk to other. The problem with this type of installation was the drivers which are not supported by the motherboard and there are unnecessary drivers present which will waste the amount of space on hard disk. The udates are gradually changing day by day,so we have to update them manually. There may be no necessary for the updates at the time of instalation.
