Some of you may remember that a week ago I was whining like a 2 year old because we were having snow here in Georgia just 3 days after our warmest (72 degrees) day of the year & so close to Spring. Well, I woke up to 6 inches of snow last Monday morning. Well, Saturday it got up to 76, Sunday 78 & today we are being promised 81. I can't remember this kind of crazy weather in my lifetime. I'd also like to share a picture of my cousin's lakefront home. What a beautiful view. This lake is near my home. I hope all of you are having better weather now!!! Did everyone survive that cold front without much disaster??? Tell me, what happened in your neck of the woods about a week ago.

Yes, I don't remember the last time I heard of it snowing there!!! Your snow was all over my news stations. I found that strange!!! I was pleasantly surprised how pretty that picture turned out!!! It was made with my inexpensive Polaroid digicam. The good shot was about as strange as the weather!!!

It was pleasant here on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. About 6 last night the rain came through & so did the cold air. Today is supposed to be 20 degrees colder than yesterday. BRRRRRRRRR!!! Then again I shouldn't complain, it is snowing in New York City on the first day of Spring. Atleast it's still warm enough here to keep the snow away!!!

I've heard about the snow in Georgia and can never remember it snowing at all in the southern states until these recent years. Well, the big apple was hit with a big storm too last Monday...but then on Saturday it hit 70 degrees..sheesh. Today was back down to the 40s and most of the week we're to expect rain

Snow in New York is a given. I believe it was 2004 when we had the BIG ice storm. Since then we've had 2 times with a beautiful snow in the morning then melted by 3:00 the same afternoon. Those don't count as snow. Plus all of those were preceded by freezing weather. You're correct, the Southern states seldom see snow. My aunt in Southern Georgia is 83 years old & lived in her home for over 60 years & she had never had snow at her house. Today we're warmer than Tampa Florida!!!

12 inches is just a dusting in New York!!! With just 1 inch everything shuts down here. 6 inches was considered a disaster. 80% of my town was without electricity for several days. Fortunately, i wasn't one of them!!!

Hi LadyM,
What a beautiful place that is, its just take my breathe away, I'd love to be there. We did have a freak weak many weeks ago when London was covered in snow and we had our fair share of it too but last week was alright, just normal but today we are having that awful winds and cold also some rain, but not too drastic as that is quite normal for us.

Yes, your freak week was all over my news. I remember thinking how strange!!! I understand that it is more than normal to be raining there. My cousin's home is lovely during our regular weather; but i found it most beautiful with the snowfall!!! The picture turned out well also!!!

Wow that is a beautiful pic, I wish I lived on a lake. Anyhow, as far as the weather; I live in Colorado and we have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, stick around for half an hour... it'll change" So I suppose I understand your frustration. However, I am used to it and will be expecting snow well into Spring. Last year I believe our last snow fall was in May. Have a nice day.

Seems a lot of states have that saying. Fortunately we don't normally have it here!!! I really wish I lived in that house. The inside is as pretty as the outside!!! Being that my cousin owns it, I do drop by frequently for a visit on the pretty sunshiny days!!! Great place for a swim too!!!

What a gorgeous photo. Would make a great postcard. We had cool weather here last week in Missouri. This past weekend was beautiful. Was 82 degrees Friday and warm Sat. and Sun. Sunday morning we had tornado warnings and in fact a couple hit about 20 miles from us. The winds were high which kept me busy chasing the trashcans until I put them in the garage. This morning it is 34 degrees. We have crazy weather changes all year. We are suppose to have more storms tonight and tomorrow. Think warmer towards the end of the week. We have experienced 3 seasons this past week but didn't have any snow.

Our weather is usually very steady...we know from one day to the next what to expect (except for an occasional rain cloud). When we do have snow, it's preceded by a week of freezing weather, not a week of 70 degree beautiful days. Fortunately, we seldom have tornadoes also. I have a tool shed out back that appears to have been picked up & dropped on my neighbor's fence. We didn't have any high winds with the snow to my knowledge. We also didn't have a reported tornado. I just hope the building is covered by my homeowner's insurance!!!

What a difference a day makes...today will be 20 degrees cooler than yesterday. Atleast we're NOT having the snow that New York City is having. That is even crazier. The first day of Spring & it's snowing in NYC!!!

What a gorgeous house in a beautiful location Lady M - I would love to live there! AS for the weather here a week ago there were such strong, strong winds it was scary! Then we had unseasonably warm weather and yesterday we had a combination of them all , the winds, rain, bright warm sunshine, snow and sleet! It is so confusing! lol I kind of wish it was snowing here today as then perhaps the demolition of the old school across the road would be on hold for the day and I would get some peace and quiet! lol xxx

YES, it is a beautiful house & a very pleasant location. I just wish I had found it before my cousin did. I would LOVE to be living there!!! My home is in a little more country setting & several miles from the lake. The good part....my driveway is close enough to the road I could get out by day 2. My cousin's drive is a long way from the main road & it was several days before he could get out!!! The snow enhanced the scenery also!!!

What a beautiful property!
We got 72 this Saturday and 65 yesterday, it was great. There will be be a cooling off this week and we'll probably have at least one more snowfall before spring. I'm in Ohio, where if you don't like the weather all you need to do is wait a day and it'll change!
I have a question about uploading photos. I notice yours is 64K but when I upload anything it tells me it must be 28K or less. How do you upload a nice big photo like that?!

One reason I stay in Georgia is I just plain love the warm weather year round. A cold winter is when it hits 32 for more than 3 days in a row. I don't care for cold weather & really dislike snow!!!
As to how I uploaded the photo...I have NO idea. I just transferred from my camera to my computer & then did the normal upload. I didn't realize there even was a limit so I wasn't trying to stay below it. I guess you could say that I uploaded it out of ignorance & the system recognized that ignorance!!!

LadyMarissa,
That is so beautiful! That is a perfect shot. Last week we had 4" of snow and in some areas, like the mountain areas, they got up to 11". Over the weekend we had temps in the 70's. We are now getting temps back down in the 30-40's with gusty wind. March has arrived!

Sounds as if your weather is about as wacky as mine. I used to live in Oxon Hill MD & snow was not that unusual. Here in Georgia it has been over 6 years since our last frozen weather. We don't normally have this up & down temps so close together. We usually have a week of bad followed by a week of good...not this day by day change. I anticipated snow all winter & just as soon as I begin to bring out my lighter clothes...BOOM...we're covered in snow. So I get my warmer clothes back out...BOOM...it's almost summertime here. Now I'm not sure what clothes to keep in my closet. I hope we settle down soon!!!

I just responded to another post about where the heck Spring is! LOL
We just had the most gorgeous weekend with temps very similar to yours but, now, it's cooling off again. HOPEFULLY, there won't be any more snow this season, but it is possible here, too.
It's 63 deg. F. right now but is supposed to be falling into the lower 50's later in the week with sub-freezing temps at night. Our lake is gorgeous right now; the ice finally melted and we were inundated with geese! LOL
My son came over for the weekend and we put up a 'goose barricade' at their favorite spot for coming ashore and heading directly towards my veggie garden so I MIGHT actually get a nice harvest this year!
I got some fishing in from our lake this weekend and boy oh boy was it ever nice!!! I didn't catch anything, but I managed to get what I enjoy out of fishing anyway, the peace and quiet that helps to get my head back on straight when things are going wrong.
My son chopped up a rather large tree that had fallen over during one of our many bad windstorms we've had this winter. I let him take it home where he and his brother use it for firewood. (We don't have a fireplace. )
I managed to do some weeding and transplanted some daffodils and tulips which, somehow, managed to make their way into my herb garden.
I'm so sore right now but I'm not going to complain... THIS soreness came from doing things I enjoy more than anything. It won't be long now before we're all having beautiful weather... maybe even starting to complain about it being too hot!

My husband took this photo of our lake from our deck. The ice was melting and formed this ring which, he said, reminded him of that movie "The Ring"... scary! He told me that, if I looked at it, I would have 7 days to live (the story line about a videotape in that movie).
Well, it's been over a week and I'm still here, so I guess he doesn't know what he's talking about, huh? LOL
Our lake is nowhere as beautiful as that photo you've posted. That is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

Since when does a husband ever know what he's talking about??? I've watched The Ring. Since he looked at it, he should be gone by now too!!! We hit 85 today & it's not supposed to get but to 50 by Saturday. My closet is a miss-mesh of clothes right now. I have my wool coat right next to my gauze dress. I'm just hoping it will be Spring very soon. I like to think it unlikely that we'll have more snow. The snow did make the lake even more beautiful!!! That is one good thing about the snow, our lakes were way down & the melting snow has helped to raise the water level!!!

Crazy ain't the word for it!!! I know this type of weather is the norm in a lot of areas, but my area isn't one of them. We'll ALL be having pneumonia soon.

Does Canada ever get Spring??? I thought you stayed buried in snow 24/7/365!!! My lilies were just beginning to come up when we got hit with what we affectionately call "The Blizzard of 2009". I hope to be seeing Spring real soon!!!
