This morning when I went out to take the dog
for he morning pee it had snowed about 4-5 inches
but when I opened the storm I found my walk cleanly shoveled.
Nice surprise then as I bring the dog around the corner
I find my neighbor's boy shoveling the side when I always take the dog.
Wasn't that so nice?
He's a 12 year old..he also have a 4 wheeler with plow and plows me out all winter.
For Christmas I bought him a set of chains for it.
Could you get by without a little help from your friends?

That is so nice of him to do for you. I enjoyed listening to this great Beatles song while reading your discussion. Thanks for linking it here for us.
I'm glad you have friends in you life to help you out a bit, raydene. It is so important.

Mom that is so sweet! I would like to think that if we lived there Niall would be the same! lol Sorry I know he would want to help but I am not sure if shovelling snow wouldn't kill him! lol
Love you loads and you tell that young lad that your Scottish daughter said thanks very much for looking after her Mom! xxx

Yes I used to have a neighbour who did my lawn and my stairs for and balcony for me too, but I don't have him anymore and now I am looking for a new place to live.

I do every day. Since moving to Scotland in 2001, I still have yet to make any friends. I still have a few "friends" back in the States, but I don't hear from them much. It seems to cost too much to mail even a Christmas card. I always fended for myself but that doesn't mean that I didn't help people out that I could see needed help. I would check up on people especially the older ones. Did anyone remember me? No. But I never looked for a pat on the back but a thank you would have been nice. So, can I get by without friends, sadly, yes, I have to. Other than my sweet hubby, my only other friend here in my new country, is our fur baby.

I forgot to mention, our neighbors are so great that I was walking around in a leg cast for 6 weeks and no one even noticed. Not one person ever asked if I needed anything. Yep, gotta love those neighbors. They just don't want to know.

Hi raydene! That is very sweet and kind of your 12 year old neighbor. Bless his soul! I hope there will be more like him. I definitely can't get by without help from my friends. Friends always make my heart smile and makes the hard times easier somehow.
Take care and have a great day!

I live in a small west Texas town that is considered by many to be a very friendly place. That being said, we have the worst neighbors. I always wave & say hello if I see one of our neighbors but don't always get a response. One neighbor will make it a point to avoid us if we are out. There is one that will always engage us in conversation. If not for him, I'd think we live on Grinch St., USA. I don't have many friends in town either. Maybe it's me but this is the unfriendliest friendly town I've ever lived in.
By the way, I think it's great that you have a neighbor like the 12 year-old. Good for him!

Awwww... how sweet of him. He seems to be a very helpful young man, and it was nice of you to show your appreciation by buying him a set of chains for his four-wheeler. It's nice to have helpful neighbours. I have one downstairs, and I don't know how I'd get on with others, who were less helpful. I'd certainly miss him if he moved away!
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

It sure makes life a lot easier to have helpful neighbors. I am also lucky in that my neighbors really help me.

That is so sweet! Last year my hubby and I had driven past a guy that was stuck in a big pile of snow, so we turned around and went to help him. He said that he had been there for over an hour and we were the first ones to stop. I can't believe what the world is coming too some days, but I am glad that their are some nice people left in this world. When I was living at home I always shoveled the neighbors driveway as they were senior citizens and we didn't want them hurting themselves. In the summer I'd cut their grass for them too!

That was extremely nice of that boy. You don't see to many younger kids helping out anymore. It is nice to know there are still some very helpful ones!
