NO WAY MY CHILDREN ARE THOUGHT TO RESPECTT HEIR ELDERS ,and such behavior would lead to punishment.

Talk to them about it and ask them why they think they can act this way. My daughter is 10 and she is a smart mouth sometimes. I remind her that when you love some one you should respect them and not talk to them like that and sometimes she just gets punished. I take her favorite things away.

If one of my kids were to be rude to myself or their stepdad etc they'd get a slap in the mouth and a good lecture...THEN I would find out what the problem is..

I hope I don't ever have to deal with this...but we'd have to sit down and have a very long talk about respect and how to treat people. If necessary, things would start being taken away until I saw a change in attitude.

Find out the reasons for one's rudeness. If it is recent phenomenon, take him to psychiatrist. If it is from childhood, you may have to teach him (appoint tutor) to teach him nicities in life, etiquettes, manners etc. Him him good books to read which inspires good behaviour.
