getting more serious?

My boyfriend and I want to get more serious but we don't know how. It is hard because we aren't gonna move in together and aren't ready for marriage but we are twenty something and have been dating for a year and a half. We just want to get closer (emotionally and as people not physically) but we don't know what we are doing wrong. Plus we get in little ruts sometimes and we go through dry spells and monotony of life starts to wear on our relationhsip.

We did discuess it, but still, we are both practical people...we need actual examples of what we are doing wrong and what to change or we will just keep acting the same way and doing the same stuff. I just hope it's not me holding back I do that a lot.

Communication, honesty, and vulnerability. In other words speak and listen from an open heart.
Use your five senses; touch, sight, smell, taste. You always have time to look deep into his eyes, taste his lips, hold his hand, listen to his words and what is behind those words, rather than just to those words, worrying about what your response will be.
