Do you read the comments/ responses to your topics in your mail box ?

Whenever we have posted a topic or response, we get email notifications. Do you read them in your mailbox itself or do you log on to our site mylot.com? When I have received a big number of responses or some other comments [essentially a number of items to read], I give a quick glance and immediately log on to the site. If it is just one or two I read this fIrst and see if I have to write anything further. Then I log on . Do you have a pattern?

Whenever I received email from myLot, I knew someone gave me a comment. I will log into myLot to check with it. I read the comment on the email once, and read the comment on myLot once, and check others' response in myLot.

I first log into my email account and see if anything is happening. Then I open the email and see if I have to respond to anything in mylot. Then I log into mylot and start typing! I've gotten so much better at typing since I became a member...

I too was absolutely new to the comp and typing when I started. Actually, I started typing out answers in yahoo and later came over here. This has definitely improved my typing speed too.

Hello kalav. I usually read the comments and responses to my discussions from my email box, which is one the major ways that I check them. About ninety percent I use the email box for them. I am quite used to this way, but sometimes I also check to respond to discussions from "my friends" and "no responses" and "new users" as well. Happy posting, friend.

I used to check it and respond from my email box initially;once or twice, I lost the page because after typing it out slowly, it would disappear and ask me to log in[initially when I was very slow]Now I have improved but I log in most of the time to the site.

I have a good technique to check them, when I first check which of my discussions has received responses if all belong to same discussions then I will open the most recent response in that discussion and try to comment on every response from the start of the discussion. As far as comments notifications are concerned then if there is something to comment on then I do that otherwise I just read them in my mailbox only. Bye

I start from the first but if it is a friend whom I have not seen for some time then I go straight there and then from thereon , Iproceed. And also when theere are some intersting comments to some , i join if I feel like it[like what happened in Kiran's ghost discussion recently].

Hi kalav56! I usually read them in my mailbox but I do however logged in to mylot too since I will be responding/commenting to all the discussions and responses. However, there are some discussions that i wouldn't respond to since I really don't have any idea of what it is and sometimes there are some responses that does need to be commented about. But most of the time, I can only respond to a few since I have so many things to do lately. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

Hi Kalav, It depends on situations. For example, if I post a new discussion on Saturday evening and I will check the same again on Monday only and if I got lot of responses then I will read the same in mylot only. In case I am starting the same on any other day then I will be able to read the same in next day and sometimes initially there may be only limited number of responses then I will read the same from inbox (later I will respond to the same through mylot). Regarding the comments we get back on our responses, I will read it in inbox and if I want to add something then I will go to mylot page.

Hi Kalav....Well I too do not have a specific pattern while attending to my responses.....It mostly depends on my modd and the time at my disposal for mylotting. If I am in ahurry I reply from my email itself. But if I feel like reading all the responses then I go to that particular discussion itself.

Actually, If I have responded to al lot of discussions, and am pretty sure the creator who created the discussion will comment on my response, then I go to check those comments on my e-mail account, as I think it is easier since I have one e-mail account dedicated entirly to Mylot and other e-mails go to another account of mine, so I can see all the comments on my e-mail account instead of going to the responded column on Mylot and search if someone commented on my response... Happy-Mylotting

To read comments is a must for me, I feel anxious about whether my point is well understood, or anything wrong beyond my intent. A best response is sure a surprise. For the responses, I usually log in to read, comment and give rating where I feel like. I enjoy reading the responses, including quotes from internet, often refined nutition to replenish our knowledge, why not?

I don't have a pattern for this. Just regular check of mails, i seldom can't read all the emails flooding my inbox and i select a few to respond back based on their comment on what i said to their forum. Although when i do start a discussion, i see to it that i respond back to all who participated there. But when i will just join a certain topic, and then someone replied to what i posted, then sometimes, i can't get back at them to reply. I have a time schedule to keep on Mylot and other sites and so i have to maintain it to achieve my goal for this month. I am sure it won't be a problem to some, not unless a personal question was asked, then i would reply, but if it is not a good one, like a heated argument, well i don't reply back to them.

I faced an abusive reply only twice so far[FOR NO REASON] andI just ignored it. You also seem to do this and refrain from getting into heated arguments! A real waste of time and energy I do agree if someone wants to be impolite and we tend to answer. Thank you very much for the reponse!

Yeah I check my email and see I have comments then I delete the ones I am not going to respond to and save the ones I will come back to later. Is it customary to respond to everyone's comments in a discussion I started? What about people who comment on my respones?

Normally I feel duty bound to acknowledge the people who have taken time to respond to my topic.Regarding comments, it becomes a matter of individual choice.Occasionally I get into it also and then there would be discussion within discussion and it turns out to be great fun.

Sometimes I read the discussion in my mailbox if its just one or two notifications. But more often, I do log into myLot and read the discussions that caught my interest and respond if I like to.

When ever I receive a notification I immediately read it in my inbox. If I have the time to reply then I go on to the site and post my reply. This has been my set pattern for last few months. If I do not have anything to reply then I just delete the notification or else it is saved in a folder to be replied to later.

Yes, Kalav, i also respond to the comments or respond when I have a large number notified in my mail. Then, I respond to all of them at one go. So this is my general pattern in responding or commenting on the responses I receive. Belated Happy Holi!

Thank you comfort 55. It is simpler to respond from the site when we have a number of comments to make, especially because we would tend to miss some otherwise.

Yeah, I read responses and comments in the mail box itself when not on the Mylot. It is one of the best service of Mylot to make members aware of a new post on their discussion and posts. When one is in office it is interesting to read comments in the mail box. It may change when lots of responses will start coming,I am new and has not got too many responses for my post so for me reading in the mail box is better in some situations.
