Since when isn't a banana a fruit?

An herb? No I have never heard that. I always thought it was a fruit too. Guess you learn something new everyday.

Is is actually both a fruit and a herb so neither one of you were wrong! Since the Banana tree dose not really contain woody tissue is it used for a herb the Banana is the fruit and the "tree" the herb!

I've never heard that, either -- I have always thought a banana was a type of fruit. Is it a fruit ? Is it a herb ? OMG it's a Banana :D No idea if it's fruit or herb, and don't have the time for research right now, but I have one big question: If it's a herb, can we smoke it ? a herb! Since when? I have always known it to be a fruit too. It grows on a tree for goodness sakes. That makes it a fruit! Have you tried looking it up on the net? Wonder what they would say about it.....hmmmm maybe the tv station was wrong or maybe they were talking about bananas and then changed the subject and started talking about a herb

It depends on how to serve banana.Banana can be fruit,herb or snack.My neighbour always making a snack from banana.She slice the banana into a pieces,dry those in the sun and then fry it..In that case,banana becomes more than just fruit.

I always thought of bananas as fruit because that is what it has always been called. We learn something new every day. I want to thank those that did the research to find out for us.

That is a new one to me. I had never heard that. We also grew up learning that tomatoes were a vegetable, but now they consider it a fruit. It is amazing how things are changing.
