We just watched Kung Fu Panda today with the kids and I have to say it's really very well done, and has such a wonderful message! I was very inpressed with the animations and their detail to the various Kung Fu styles. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

Kung Fu Panda! wohoo! I love that flick!
I agree that it has a good message to the viewers - believing in oneself, and a lot of things.
Good day!

It's very good indeed. If you like Jack Black you'll get a kick out of his humor (way toned down lol). I've seen the ones you've mentioned and love them all. I just like movies that have life lessons to teach. Anora

Jack Black is the man who does the voice of Po. He's the lead singer of Tenacious D.

Yup, I have watched it - it was simply hilarious! Couldn't have imagined a big, clumsy panda executing the kungfu moves! My nephews and niece were rolling on the floor with laughter - I don't know if I was laughing at Panda or at them!

I have not seen it yet. I have been wanting too! The kids have seen it with their other parents or grandparents and they liked it. I guess I will have to go and buy it now that an adult says it is good.

My seven year old has the DVD. It was given to her by my sister who raved about it. Well my little one loves it and talks about Po on his Kung Fu quest to become the Dragon Warrior or something along those lines. I have not had a chance to see it yet but my sister assures me it is brilliant and holds powerful messages about following your passions and that can't be a bad thing at all. So thumb up for Kung Fu Panda from my sister and my daughter!

We watched this movie too and really enjoyed it! The entire family got a kick out of it. I thought it had a good story-line, and was very well written. The way the animators made each scene with such great detail helped make the movie a success. It is defiantely a movie I would watch again.

My husband and I LOVED this movie. We really don't know much about Kung Fu and the different styles - only that it had a really nice message and a happy ending.

I've only seen bits and pieces of it, but my 6 year old loved it. He talked about it for a few weeks after he watched it. From what I did see, it looked very well done, and cute in it's own way. Maybe one day, I'll get to sit down and watch the whole movie.

The film Kung Fu Panda was released in 2008. However, last Sunday, it was shown at my local cinema and I went to see it. when I came back I wrote a short article about it. For more detailed you can have a look this site:http://www.helium.com/items/1594165-kung-fu-panda-chinese-culture
Plot
The story of Kung Fu Panda is very simple and straightforward. It tells how an ordinary chef overcomes difficulties and becomes a respectable kung fu master.
The theme of the film is everyone has the potential to be the person you want to be if you pursue your dream.
Main characters
Po is a Panda who was born in the family that runs a noodle shop. His fate is to be a chef to continue the family business. However he really wants to be a kung fu master.
Shifu is a kung fu Master who has five favourite students: Tigress, Viper, Monkey, Mantis and Crane. They are all very good at kung fu and have potential to be a new Dragon Warrior. By the way Shifu in Chinese means Master or Teacher.
Tai Lung was an orphan who was adopted by Shifu and learnt kung fu from him. However he's bad in nature and was imprisoned. He will soon break his prison to invade the Peace Village where Po and other animals live.
Who give the voices?
Panda is voiced by Jack Black who won best actor in an animated movie at the 2009 Kids Choice Awards for his acting in this film.
Shifu is voiced by Dustin Hoffman, one of the best known US actors for more than 40 years.
Tigress is voiced by Angelina Jolie. Without telling you can easily notice it.
Viper is voiced by Lucy Liu, a Chinese American actress. Her most notable roles are in films of the Charlie's Angels and Kung Fu Panda.
Monkey is voiced by Jackie Chan, who was born in Hong Kong and has many social roles as an actor, action choreographer, film director, producer, martial artist, etc. In his films, he is known for his kung fu performances.
My opinion
This film has remarkable elements of Chinese cultures.
The Peace Valley where the story happens looks like Wu Dang Mountain, a famous mountain of China that is also known as a birthplace of kung fu.
The main character Po uses Panda, the China's national animal. Even the five students: Tigress, Viper, Monkey, Mantis and Crane, who represent 5 Chinese kung fu styles.
Although in this film you can hear the music of Wilhelm Scream band, but mostly are Chinese traditional music.
This film doesn't over do the magic of Chinese kung fu, but uses some elements of other Chinese films, especially the film Kung Fu. Because I watched this kind of films a lot so I can easily find out.
However I still think it's a very funny film and is suitable for both children and adults.

I think this was a great movie. They made a great decision playing Jack Black as the voice of the panda. Panda's are one of my favorite animals too! This movie was the first ever Blu-ray movie I saw. It was also the very first disk my PS3 ever had inserted into it! It was a lot of fun watching and it was really funny. I don't think the movie makers could have done much better.
I give it a 10/10 popcorns!
