I don't feel that I do, but my 11 year old son sure has the talent for it. He write lyrics all the time andsings them to us. I really think that he could make a go of it if he wanted to. I've thought about checking into how to go about getting his work out there.

Back in high scool (and that was so long ago! ) I did composed some songs. Earlier in my adult life, our family had a Recording Company and I submit some songs, have it arranged thru my brother to have some artists sing for it. I also pass some songs to some more prominent Recording companies back then.
But now, sad to say, I haven't been abel to compose songs. But last month, my 8 year old daughter composed a song! My emotions cannot contain the outburst of happiness I felt when she sang that to me.
I also have a project that will soon to be completed. I am helping out a friend who is a budding song writer. We already recorded some of his songs. His videos can now be seen in youtube. Profile has also been made. More songs to be recorded and we're gonna submit the songs to any recording companies. The songs are really good! I am really praying that my friend will be given a break.

I've played in four bands. One of them my own band where I was in charge. I'd say that I can write good music, I taught myself more theory than how to play rather than just knowing how to play and stuff like that. Makes the songs more dynamic and ambient :)
My lyrical is not as great. I'm Swedish and never really read much in English growing up. Now I live in the US but still don't read English haha. My Swedish lyrics got really good critique from friends, and a poem site.
In English I am always shy about my lyrics, I'll share some if anyone is interested (which I hope not ;D)
Take care,
happy mylotting!
