Yes I still have my holiday lights up on my garage eave and also the eave of the house. It has still been too cold to dig out the ladder to climb up and remove them all. Is your house still adorned with holiday lights? When do you usually take them down? No I do not turn them on. I have been tempted though.

They do get weather beaten. Mine I replace about every three years due to wear and tear from the cold weather etc. They are cheap enough now days so it's worth it.

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Our lights are
Still up there too.
Just kidding. Couldn't make a good rhyme with January...

I stop turning mine on after the first of January usually.
All the extension cords are removed so I am not tempted to.

We never got our lights up this past year for Christmas. There was just never time to do it. I'm hoping there will be time to put them up this year. We only got our Christmas tree up the night before Christmas. Although, I'm thinking if we would have gotten our lights up, we probably would have gotten them taken down sometimes in January.

Being in Minnesota with the cold, frigid temps we get anytime from October till April I put them up by Halloween and don't get them down till March or April. So I am on par as far as removing them this year.

Hi, webeishere! I don't have any lights up, I never up any up either. Maybe this year, I will do so.. I do notice that many peeople do leave their Christmas lights on their eaves. I guess they figure that it may take too much time to take them off, and that Christmas will be here before you know it.. It saves them time. So, they leave them on. I understand GRANDPA BOB!!

I don't put lights up on my house anymore, I get too lazy to take them down, and they'll end up being on there all year..haha. We did that one time, we put lights all over the house even way up on the roof, but nobody wanted to get up there and take them down so we left them, the next year, we turned them on and somebody had to get up there and replace the lights that were out, we did that for awhile, till it got ridiculous and we had to take them down...lol.

It is a lot of work.
Especially as I put up maybe 3500 to 500 lights on the house, garage, and around the yards perimeter. Soon I'll be too bad of shape to do this though.

We actually still have our lights up. We just put a small light set up around our window so it's actually not much of a hassle to take down, but we'd probably end up leaving it up. It's just easier and it's a lot less hassle to deal with when it comes back around to winter again.

We do not have Christmas light. Husband had a stroke, cannot climb ladder, me, I am scared of heights and we both are cheapskates. There are still a few Christmas lights up in our neighborhood. It is really too cold to take them down. And some of our neighbors have so good displays, that is a shame to see them take them down.

If I were you I would turn them on just for a bit of fun! lol Ours come down the first chance that David gets after January 6th! I was quite surprised that he took them down in the snow this year - he was frozen to the bone by the time he had finished! xxx

I have to confess that years ago I did leave them up all year one time. Hey, was nice come Christmas time again, they were already up and all of them worked. hahaha When we do put lights up we take them down after the first of the new year but we don't have the weather elements here like you do there.

We didn't have really bad snow until after the beginning of the year, so they came down within the first week of Jan..But if we did have bad weather, I would wait until the first nice day and then take them down.

I don't blame for not getting them down since it is so cold. Our's comes down when they take the Christmas stuff down at church. But down here in Phoenix, I still see houses with their Christmas lights still up.

Well at least you have a good excuse. I live in Miami and believe it or not, there are a lot of houses with the lights still up. I didn't get around to putting them up outside this year, but come December 30, I'm always taking everything down and picking up. I wonder if they would still work if you left them up? Well hopefully it will warm up soon for you.

Hi Grandpa!!
Mine come down right at New Years
They are just on the tree....I live in an apartment so no where else to put them...
In the past I have put them on the inside of my living room window but I didn't this past year!

There are a few houses in our neighborhood that still have their Christmas lights up outside too - I have seen them on a few times as well LOL We took ours down as soon as New Years was finished.

We only put up holiday lights on the outside of our house 1x of the 7yrs we've lived here. I think it was too much fuss for my hubby
and I don't do ladders higher than a step ladder.

I had my lights up till May one time in the southwest, simply because I loved to see them lit up at night. We didn't have much money then and a friend gave us his old white and blue lights--he had a yearly award-winning display and could certainly spare some old ones! So I left them up and turned them on nearly every night till the husband said enough was enough!
The neighbors loved the lights, too.
