After I got off of work I went to the Drugstore to get me some Toliet Paper, I couldn't believe what it cost, some wer $3.99 or 5.98 I guess it is better to buy in quantities, But i didn't have enough moneyso I got the Scott's till I get paid. I remember whrn you could buy it for $.99 I don't like the cheap brand do you? Because it just doesn't last. So do ou buy the cheap Brand or Get the name brand, you don't have to tell me the Brand name. But I know everyone likes to save money, well I will get it on sale if I can't. Ok let's hear it? Cheap Brand or Name Brand?

I don't like the cheap brands myself. I think they're terrible and really don't get the job done. Usually, my partner and I buy Charmin. We get coupons for it every once and awhile and we use those to buy what we need. We usually by the small packs but the huge rolls where 6 rolls equals something like 24 rolls. We usually can get a pack for about $7.50 or so with a coupon. I know it doesn't knock a lot off but it sure beats having to pay full price.

hello marciascott i always purchase Angel Soft toilet tissue. it is an affordable brand name of toilet paper. and the Angel Soft toilet paper has also went up in price. at the Dollar General Store it went up a dime or something like that and then at the grocery stores around here, the same product has gone up in price around twenty-five cents. so i guess that we can almost say that even the brand names of good quality products aren't cheap anymore either! lol right? lol and i think that i had a coupon on a free roll of Scott toilet paper once before, i had to pay tax on it was all. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I know, it's ridiculous how much it costs! It's only paper, geez, it's not something that's used to clean the crown jewels (hehe...well, maybe the family jewels....) We just use Scott's. When we bought different it seemed like there was a roll changed every day or two. There's 4 of us at the house here; the Scott's lasts a lot longer, and costs less for the amount you get. Plus I find it's easier on our rural septic tank. We get ours at Walmart in the 12 roll pack, and it's a lot cheaper that way.

JoyfulOne....I, too, live rurally...and have the trusty, septic tank & field! 17 and a half years ago..was the last time I performaned maintenance (Pump-out) and it turned out the guy that came to do the "awful duty" was a fellow I went to school with! He gave me a few tips, on taking the load off the field...and the first one; NO TOILET PAPER (it does NOT break down)...NO POWDERED SOAPS...the filler in them does NOT breakdown...and of course, NO FATS or GREASE! i don't know rurally, if you are allowed a burn barrel...but TP is collected in a brown paper bag & burnt, grease~~I soak up with newspaper and burn...and of course, now I use Liquid Laundry Detergent...and he suggested all dairy containers be rinsed and poured down sink...as the dairy residues feeds the good bacteria that is breaking down the sewage! So far, so good....and it will be 18 years this August. I had it checked last year...and the company said it was perking away like it should! I don't know what it costs where you live...but it's about $500.00 a pump out here! Cheers!

you do not have to burn the toilet paper you can add it to your compost pile as long as you do not add it to the vegetable garden or you can compost it separately. Just make sure it is covered when you add it.

I always buy what is on sale. These days every penny counts. Also I would like to mention earlier on in the winter I was at a fair which we have every year. It is called the Royal Winter Fair. I participated in a test where you had to touch and feel two different toilet paper rolls. You then had to put your answer into a computer and rate softness, texture, appearance, perceived quality. At the end they told you if you rated a brand name paper or a no name paper highest. Actually I rated the brand name higher than the no name but not by much. In any case they gave me some toilet paper rolls and some tissues for free for participating in the test.

We've been buying out Toilet Paper at Aldi here lately. You can buy a 12 colls package for like 5 dollars. That's pretty good when you can buy the same thing for like almost double at other stores. This toilet paper is very comparable to paper like Charmin. We like it.

Hi Marciascott, to save money I buy Scott because it actually does last longer and is a better quality paper. The cheap brands don't last as long and the paper is crap...lol ~G~

That is true I have notice that even tissue paper went up nowadays. When we buy tissue paper we just select the one which is of good quality something that is made of 2 ply for the 1 ply maybe less expensive but still you get a lot so that it will full absorbed whatever you are wiping so it is just like if you got to use the 2 ply. I always go for quality.

Toilet paper is really very expensive these days. I prefer normal brand, which is in the middle class, I've bought Scott's before, yes, it doesn't last. I now buy toilet paper in middle class, which costs reasonably. The manufacturers get lots of profit from it.

I always buy my regular supermarket's own brand. It's just as good as the major brand names in that it's soft and lasts quite well. It also comes in various colours. I don't like the really cheap ones either. They're much smaller and quite rough at times. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

All pastel shades my friend, like blue, peach, pink, lemon, lilac, and even white with patterns on, like flowers or something. Do you really not have colours the other side of the pond?

Do you mean the price was for a pack of ten or dozen? I guess it's for about the same price in my country too, for the better brands. The generic brands are slightly cheaper. The price of paper has been going up, and I can't believe that is so for recycled paper used for the toilet paper. Price for newspaper has also gone up accordingly. Therefore we must save whatever we can, for me it's ok to use the cheaper brands of toilet paper. It doesn't matter to me.

We buy ours in bulk, and it works out to be much cheaper than buying the smaller packs. Ours comes in 18 and 24, so when we have the money, we go with those. The ones we get are one of the most expensive brands out there, but I have found that we use less and it is lasting a lot longer than some of the cheaper brands. Ours is also made from recycled paper and Sustainable Farming wood pulp (yes, toilet paper is made from wood pulp).

Yes, it is better to buy in bulk, you will save more money with them. You do'nt have to keep running to buy in. My daughter has a lot of Kids and she needs to buy a lot of it.

It's one thing that we never want to run out of isn't it ?....... The old idea of using newspaper isn't good either as it's already full of **** . ......... I heard the reason that it's getting so expensive is because there is a shortage in America, so it's a case for supply and demand....As demand is currently exceeding supply then the cost will go up and up.The estimate is that stocks will become harder to find in about 12-15 months, with prices reaching peak ......It may be good to increase your own stocks while the price is still affordable.......Good luck.

That's fairly cheap!! I pay 12.99 each time I stock up on Charmin up here. I don't buy generic because I end up buying more then if I buy Charmin. I do buy the large packs but the small packs that run 8.99 don't go as far so I might as well buy the large packs.
