I grew up in a home that blasted the Classic Rock Stations, and the current 80's Hits everywhere: In the Car, Outside in the summertime, Inside in the Winter Time...... Needless to say, I still like Rock, and Oldies. But that's your Dad's Music, in my mind. Or should I say, my dad's rock...
When I grew up and got a grown person's library card! HAHAHA... I found the most interesting, eccentric sounds in Foriegn and International Music. Although I could not understand the lyrics. I did not know the popularity of an artist such as: Tab Lei. who sings in Farcee, and is a resident somewhere in the Middle East( I think Pakastain, or Iran?), he's rythum and experience felt so different. I know I will never hear this type of work on our American radios. That's why it is so special. My all time favorite International record label has to be Putu Mayo Records. This company has a large collection of International Artists, and each CD is filled with a variety of choice. The main theme of the music is the name of the record. Like the France Cafe, or Aferican Soul... I so enjoy this treat to explore the cultures outside of our nation..
Other than that I also, dig new rap. I am glad to hear Eminem again, while I know he should have veered off the road when desiring to show Snoop Dog, Hey I am just like you!- I need protection, and yaya.. But this is a new start for the artist, and he is on the charts now, and getting good air time exposure.
