Hello! No body will give you the power to forget. You have to cultivate it in you.So start practicing to forget the episodes you don't like to remember.Suppose a close friend of yours betrayed you,if you remember it will give you pain.So forgive and forget the episode will be the right decision.I don't like to remember such issues to trouble my mind unnecessarily. So soon I forget.thanx.

bbsr..what you say,is the natural way.i did not mean that,i meant completely and totally forgetting.trying to forget naturally is tough and time consuming where there is no guarantee that you will not be hurt more.
Moreover what you say on the last part is a good point the "forgive and forget point"
but that too doesn't associate with the question.
But i agree with you,why to trouble our mind...we should look forward to a good tomorrow rather than a bad yesterday.
Thank you for the response take care

There is no way I would want to be able to forget . No matter how painful certain things were in my past, I've learned lessons from all of them . The good and bad
things in your life , bring you to where you are, and who you are today.
We need to remember our mistakes or we will keep making them over and over .
My memory is real bad, I wish I could remember more , not less .

Its strange - when I have a tampon in, I know its in there, and I'm hell paranoid on when I have to take it out. So I have no idea how we 'forget'

Hello shav9292, this is a great question. Unfortunately, I suffered a stroke about 2 years ago and a lot of my memory was erased - permanently. My friends and family get extremely frustrated with me regarding their questions like, "Do you remember..." and, of course, I have to say that I do not remember. I wish I could have the power to remember. I would like to remember any mistakes I have made in the past so that I may have the knowledge to learn from them. Thank you for the great question!

Thank you so much for your response,I pray to god for your happiness.
In life there is happiness and sadness,we want to forget and remember but god knows the best and has not given us the power to forget.Whatever happens, happens for good.
Once again thank you for your response.Take care!!!

My initial reaction to this question was "YES" that I would wipe out the last 10 years worth of memories, but then I have two kids that I can't imagine my life without...so...NO, I would not want to get rid of my memories. If I could forget meeting my second husband, the third man in my life and the things that I have had to endure my life would have been and would be better.
