Can you live alone?

The Human being is created to be a social animal and would die from loneliness. Even the hermits and those that live alone and want little contact with other people would die if there weren't even animals. People that have been in prisons that are in solitary confinement still have contact with the people that feed them. Do you remember the movie "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks? He had to make himself a friend with a volley ball. No I don't believe any one would survive very long under those cercomestances.

Sounds like heaven to me! Because I am a very independent, solitary person, almost a loner and shy away from the crowds and others, I think I would enjoy it! The peace, and the solitude is something that I would appreciate rather than fear. I would miss the animals though, so that would be a tough thing, not having the animals around me, but I certainly wouldn't miss people, sometimes I dream that when I die this is the type of place I'd like to go to, providing there were animals all around.

i think i could, but will ended up dying from not eating. i am a city boy and no idea hwo to live off trees, plants. lol

I have been wondering that and I suppose no one else can live for a long time. You see man is a social animal and he can't live without other human beings around. That's what I think about others. but If I have all the books and computers, I think I can live for a year or so.

Well,man is a social animal.He can live under any circumstances.So,I think I can go well with the situation,living on the fruits and vegetables.But I doubt whether I will go mad or not.Even if I go mad,there will be nobody to say it.Live upto where the nature allows and die,is the only possibility.But I am afraid to dream the situation even.Cheers!

It is said that we can live for few days even without water & food but cannot live for more than 20 minutes without hope. You have created a totally hopeless situation, there are no animals too . ( no chance here for any man & camel stories either ) I do not think i could live here. I may not be able to survive without mylot too...

I can't even live alone, I always need company, I'm not used to living alone. Imagine what would happen to me if I was the last person on Earth! That's scary, I don't want to think about it, I wouldn't want to be the last person on Earth, even if I could do everything I wanted, I'd feel like I was never going to die, and everyone else did.. that is really sad...

I would not like to live in such a place.No one to talk to.no one to love and nothing to look forward to.I wouldnt want to live a single day.

Yes it should be possible.Remember the story of Adam and Eve.Not sure how lonmg one can last.

Hi nikky i cant even imagine such horror things ,i just cant live without my dear ones.

I honestly don't think it would be possible. You have to have human contact to live. Think about premature babies. The one thing that keeps them holding on is the touch of somebody else...loving arms to be held in. Adults like babies need human contact.

It's such a creepy condition for me. Because as socialbeing i believe that we need other people to survive LOL...

Hi Nikky, Since humanbeings are socialbeings, a person needs all those things which you want to remove form this earth. Following the condition you set, I think if I am a saint then I can live my whole life surviving myself on the fruits and water. Otherwise, thinking of living alone sucks :)

I don't like the idea of being the only person in the whole planet. I mean, hey, we all need to talk and socialize every now and then. Just the thought of not seeing another human being for days already makes me feel sad. Let's just say that I prefer to have people walking around the street and talking.

Humanbeings are socialbeings. They can live only in societies but cannot survive alone. But as per your question, if I am saint I can survive myself on the fruits and water to live my entire life without any problem. Otherwise, it sucks. :)
