I have posted in the past about my female problems the past few months. I hadn't had a menstral period since August. Now, my doctor said that it was nothing to worry about. She said if I had one then good and if I didn't have one, don't sweat it. After not having a period for 7 months, it was a little weird and I felt like in a way, I kind of missed it. For some reason, it makes me feel regulated. I'm not sure why I feel that way, but I do. Well, finally a couple days ago, I started my period. It has only been 7 months in between cycles so you would think I would be happy to have it back with the way I was feeling. Well, now that I have it, I wish it would go away. It is crazy how you feel like this sometimes.
Have you ever had problems with your menstral cycle being regular?

Not for years...I am past that and don't miss one day of having it! I don't feel any different except for feeling freer! Woo Hoo....it didn't make me change the way I feel about myself....I had a friend who said she didn't feel like a woman after that....but not me! I love not having it!

Thank God, I have always been regular. It is like clock work, every 28 days. A few times I was a little late, and really panicked since I was always regular. The only time I really had a problem is when I had a pelvic cyst. With the medication and the cyst I was irregular for a couple of months, then everything started back as usual. Seven months is a long time and then it pops up again. Are you on the pill?

Yes I did many years ago. I was having more than the "normal" problems though. I had clusters of cysts on both ovaries and I was bleeding all of the time. It got really bad and I had to have a complete hysterectomy.
If you aren't having any and you are not in the years of "change" then I'd go to the doctor and let him know so I could find out what is going on.
I hope it's nothing serious.

I have always had an irregular period. One year i only had a period three times. To top it all off my period only lasts two days. I been some what regular in the past year, having one almost every month, but there is still no rhyme or reason to it.

i had lots of problems when I had period. Pain, migraines... it was a nightmare for me. Then 5 years ago i started a treatment not to have periods anymore and it was just great! Now I feel good anytime, donĀ“t have migrains anymore, even the pain disappeared. So for me not having period was not a problem but a blessing.

Maybe you are going into the change early.I am in the change at the moment and sometimes I wish my periods would just stop for good, then I think when they do stop you get old and your body changes .I read in your previous posts about you losing weight do you think that might have something to do with it.

Yes, I have had the same problem! I have not had a period since October of 2008. Oh thank God I am not the only one who has experienced this. Did your doctor ever tell you what was wrong? I hope this is not too personal to ask.
I would really appreciate some advice on the situation so that my mind may be put at ease. If you want to private message me that is fine.

I spent an entire year having periods every two weeks at one point!
That was a complete nightmare!
I hate periods and wish I never had one again! I have a coil now but that hasn't stopped them just made them really light.
Ah well such is the burden of being a woman.. LOL!

the only time I've ever had problems was when I'd skip a month once in a while in high school & got lip service from my mom that I was pg wich I thought was funny since I couldn't get a kiss or a phone number for the life of me...Grrr! Other than that no unusual problems that couldn't be explained by stress or pregnancy.

Is there a reason why you haven't had it for 7 mos, or is just something that happened? Well I wouldn't miss it, and I don't, I haven't had a period in about 3 yrs. and I'm in my 30's, I'm on the Depo-provera shot, and when your on that it makes your periods lighter or they stop all together. My doctor says its alright, it isn't causing me any harm, I'm glad I don't have it anymore, I always had problems, heavy periods and alot of pain, it would just make me want to stay in bed, I hated it. I do still get PMS, I can tell because at a certain time, I get moody, and gripe at everybody..lol. I've always been irregular too when I was having it, I couldn't ever tell when it was going to happen because it would always happen at different times, and sometimes it was inconvenient. So nope, I don't miss it...Have a good day

I was once like that having missed periods of 5 -8 months and it would make me feel so scared and paranoid that something is wrong with me or I'm developing some kind of disease or cancer. Then i found out that some of my friends also have the same problem so at least I was convinced that its pretty normal and that even women with regular cycles sometimes missed a period or two at one point of their lives.
Once i asked my doctor and said that its pretty normal and that missed periods may be due to a lot of reasons like a side effect of medications, excessive exercise, low body weight, malnutrition or hormonal imbalance. My doctor told me not to worry as long as I don't it any more than a year. If you have missed it more than a year, just to play safe, its time to see a doctor.

Well I see my doctor every year for my yearly female exams, and she says everything is normal and my pap smears come back normal, its the injection that I get that makes me not have my periods but my doctor says its alright, unless I start having problems from the injections, like losing my hair, or my bones start getting weak, then I'm fine, its a birth control shot that I get every three months.

Well I read another discussion you had about losing weight. I just wonder if your change in your diet and exercise could have something to do with it?
I am as regular as clockwork. I can almost set a clock by my period and for the life of me I cannot imagine missing it if it wasn't on time!

Hi singlemommy!
I experienced a little problems my menstrual cycle. Just little. May be a one or two days delay. But it is really funny, that when woman don't have the period yet, they are anxious or worried. but when the period is there they want to stop it immediately. of course there are discomforts that we feel that's why we want to end the period immediately.
take care

Before I had kids, I was so regular that you could almost set a watch to the time of day I would start. Then, I had kids and it took a while to get back on track. For a while, I was really irregular, and it was horible right after I had my tubes tied. Now, I am pretty well back to normal. I pretty much know when I will start now.

You need to get some tests done, I think you have an abnormal uterus. I've known friends who has this. It's not alarming, just that you should know what you have. If you want to regulate it, it's best to start taking birth control pills. I have my period regularly.

my cousin never had a period for years, the doctor too said it was nothing to worry about My cousin has two children now and is happy. I had a problem or at least I thought it was a problem after the birth of my child. I used to be every 28 days like clockwork, and after giving birth it went to every 45 days or so. But it was normal.

When I was a young girl and I started my cycle it wouldn't stop. I would bleed for 2 weeks, then have a week off, and then start bleeding again. Instead of having my period one week each month... I had mine three weeks of each month. My gym teacher called me a liar, because we were excused from some activities during our cycle. My parents had to bring a note in from my doctor. The doctor put me on birth control pills to get me "regulated." Ever since then... I've HATED my period. I can't imagine missing it ever.

I'm on the depo shot so I don't ever get my period and I can't say I miss it one bit! I hate that time of the month!!! I want off the shot really bad because it makes you gain weight, but I just can't get past the part of having my periods again so I will stay on it for now. I was once told woman many many years ago never had their periods so it is normal if someone doesn't get theirs and they shouldn't worry about it. They don't even know why woman started having them after not having them for so many years.

Ever since I have my periods I have no problem with it because I have normal cycle and it is monthly. I think you must be happy if you have your period because it is one way of discharging waste and other toxin in our body system, if you don't have it we might be prone to cancerous cells in the uterus or cervix. Besides, female with no period for a long time has a very dry skin and sometimes irritable maybe due to unreleased waste of the uterus.
