He used English muffins, and some kind of really good store-brand pizza sauce, mozarella cheese, mushrooms, green pepper, and parmesan cheese on top. THEY WERE SO GOOD!!! I'd mentioned to him that Mom used to make them all the time, and that I'd like them again. We picked up the ingredients we wanted, when we were shopping last, and they tasted wonderful. Anyone else make pizzas this way? What do you put on yours?

Mom and I have also used flour tortillas (the soft ones), and either eaten them as a pizza with a knife and fork, or rolled them up into something like a pizza bouritto, of sorts. Same ingredients I mentioned above, just a tortilla, instead of an English muffin.

Exactly!!! That's how i remember those pizzas. Mom would chop up all kinds of veggies and we'd do that. Can put meat on them too, but Walker and I try not to go meat-crazy, when there are so many wonderful veggies out there. They are a lot of fun for kids to make, and that's why so many adults are familliar with how good they are. They remember them from their childhood.

I havent had them recently but I've had them in the past. They are really good and are really tasty. I think there are some regular pizzas that are good and some mini pizzas that are good. I think there are some ways you can make just about anything and make them good.

hello danishcanadian
the mini pizzas that your hubby made last night sounds delicious. i have made mini pizzas before, but i haven't ever used any english muffins before as the pizza crust. i like to use canned biscuit dough when that i make pizzas at home and i also like to use the already made pizza dough in the can that you can buy at the grocery store, and i also like to use flour tortillas to make pizzas at home. the flour tortilla pizzas are a breeze to make. i will have to put mini pizzas on my next grocery list for next weekend's trip to the grocery store. everybody in the family enjoys pizza and cannot get enough of it when that we do have pizza for our dinner. the kids enjoy putting their own pizza toppings on their pizza, and that is good that they enjoy doing stuff in the kitchen.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

I like to make lots of different things with tortillas. I think they make great pizzas as well as roll up sandwiches, and quesadillas.

That sounds really good. I would add a slice or two of pepperoni to mine. I will have to give this a try! Thanks for sharing!

We thought of that, but we weren't in the mood for meat that night, so we went all veggie. Walker and I are almost half vegetarian, I swear. We eat meat some nights, and during "my time of the month" I want to get more protein, so I eat a lot more meat. I get major cravings, like eating an entire bucket of hot wings... but that's just because I probably need to re-plenish protein, or something.

Hello danishcanadian,
wow! You are one lucky lady because your husband made a pizza for you, and you liked it. I hope husband would also make pizza for me that is if we have an equipment to do that. We have tried making small pizza's from our own bread here, sometimes we would just use the usual tasty bread and we would just use our oven toaster here to make small pizza. I hope I can do a real pizza when I have an oven already.
Take care and happy mylotting!! red_amethyst

hi danish..cooli did when my children were still teens...and it seems that they were not satisfied with pizzas ...that i made a homemade for them and they can eat as many as they can in that way i can save as well not buying on the commercial pizzas which of course very costly...i made the classic ones the ham and cheese thing and experiment on different toppings to mention a few such as corned beef which is their favorite..mushrooms and canned pineapple slices...

English muffins? I gotta try this and taste it for myself. I think you have the ingredients of a great tasting pizza. If I'm gonna make one, I'd add meaty bits and pepperoni.. YUMMY!

That sounds really yummmy !!!! :)
I never thought about doing them that way, but I can see how it will work and I will try it for sure.
I would probably put different things on ours according to what each one likes. Hubby and my will go for mozzarella cheese, bacon bits, mushrooms and green olives. My son would prefer the cheese, pepperoni or italian sausage, green peppers and green olives. And my daughter would want chicken, pineapple and extra cheese:)

Bobboli crusts aren't bad and it only takes about 30 minutes to make a good pizza dough with flour, water, and yeast.

We just put pizza sauce, Parmesan cheese, peperoni, green pepper and pineapple. It also taste good and I still haven't tried to put mozzarella cheese on it. Mozzarella is hard to find here.

I make these for my clients often on Sunday evenings. I put sauce, of course and either Canadian Bacon or Pepperoni, as well as whatever veggies they want and whatever cheese they have on hand. I should sprinkle the parmesan on it too.

I make them similarly...for the base, I use pita or pocket bread. For the toping, I usually put on whatever I feel like at the time out of what I have available.
