How do you show someone you love them?

We all have times when we say we love someone. But I was once told by a man, "I could tell my wife I love her everyday but if I don't take out the garbage she'll never know."
So how do you show you love someone? My husband hates doing laundry but I love doing it - not because I love cleaning or doing chores but it's my way of saying I love him when he and my son have clean clothes in their rooms in the morning. I'm not the best cook in the world but I try every night because that's another way of showing my love for my family.
So what do you do - I'd love to hear the ways...

I think people have different love languages like Dr. Chapman says in his book "the five love languages." I know I am a words of affirmation person. I like being told I am loved and special whereas the man I am dating is physical touch so i make it a point to hold his hand, put my arm around him, or touch his arm while we talk...small things like that.

Hi soullist...I've never heard of the person or the book but I'm curious now so I'll look it up online. Thanks for teaching me something today. Thanks for your response.

Sometimes simply saying I love you isn't enough, so my hugs and kisses help him know that I care about him and that I love him. My love language is physical touch so I show my love through holding his hand, putting my arm around him, hugging him, massagin his back, small little things like that.

now,I am a student of university, and I don't have a wife but a beatifull gf .how to show me I love my gf ? that is a very easy to answer.Everyday there is a kiss on my gf'face from me and I usually tell her I love her in my hart. When she faces some diffeculties ,I would stand nearlly with her and tell her "don't be anxious about thatand nothing U can't come across,I always get along with U even if the world is broken". At the same time,I will ty my best to help her to get out the bad situation.
in the weekday,I love to cook some delicious dish for her,I love her and give her the sunshine!

I say it is the small things you do for them. I show I love my husband by doing things that show it like I do his laundery. I cook him something I know he loves. I sometimes will make his drinks when he is to tired to. I occasionally will buy him things I know he needs or likes. I stay all night with him at the hospital when he is sick. I also tell him. I think it is important to tell people how you feel too.
Same for my daughter. I make sure she is well taken care of and I spend time with. I makes sure she knows I love her. It is all small but I think it is important!

Hi huston...I agree with you - it's the small things that make up love. Sometimes grand gestures are just too big. But yes it's important that we tell the people we love that we do appreciate them and care about them also. Thanks for your response.

"Actions speak louder than voice",yeah it is true.I can show someone that I love them by offering my help.I am always here ready to help if you have a problem, except for financial matter of course.I am just still a student, no money. To my parents, I will show my love for them by studying well in school for they were the ones sending me to school.I will show to them that all their efforts and sacrifices are in great value in my part.I will obey them and not to hurt their feelings..not only to my parents but also to my friends.

Yes its true words alone are not enough to show our love to people we really love. We do things unusual just to let them feel that we love them.
I think I was born not a sweet person. I seldom utter the word I love you unless I really mean it. In my case though I enjoy driving, there are really times that I feel lazy or tired but I need to drive my wife to and from her workplace. I do it 2 times a day 6 times a week 26 days a month.

Hi long...I think it's much better that you show your wife instead of just uttering words. It's wonderful that you drive her to and from her workplace - that is true love! Thanks for the response.

"I could tell my wife I love her everyday but if I don't take out the garbage she'll never know". That is such a sweet line! Its simple but it has a deeper meaning into it! I love my boyfriend and he knows it too. I asked him before how, he said he feels that I really do. Same goes for me, I know he loves me every time he hugs and kiss me. It as if nobody else exists! I told him also that I always love it whenever we walk and he would place his hands on my waist to guide me softly while walking. It makes me feel so loved and protected every time he does that to me!

I think I'm much the same way that I tend to do things around the house. I try to create nice meals that we can sit down to, keep things tidy, etc. I also say I love you every day to my husband and children, I just believe it is something we should let the people we love know. I also do little things like leave notes for my husband.

Dear Anora! We are alike...I make my husband's breakfast and lunch for him to take to work every day and leave notes in his lunchbox! That's wonderful and they're lucky to have you. Thanks for the response.

there was a time my boyfriend had to work from 3am to 10pm in a doughnut shop because his colleague cannot come to work. i decided to go to him and i brought him lunch because he could not leave the shop. the little things he do for me are washing my clothes for me when i was working night shifts and i was too tired to do the laundry in the morning, he takes care of me when i am sick, he makes sure i drink lots of water and take medicines every 4 hours, he will wake up in the night to make me take some medicines, he will pick me up from work if i go home late, so when i think of those little things he do for me makes me love him more =)

Thanks so much for sharing - all those things you do for each other show your love instead of just saying it...

saying I LOVE YOU to someone you love is not enough to show them that you really love that person. If i am on your case i would not repeat the word i love you again and again it is because once is already enough ...but it is not enough to say i love you should show to him/her how much you love him/her that he/she can saw what you do to proved that you really loved that person..

i really can't say how. all i know is that when i love a person i am willing and im doing everything the best i can for him. provide him with his every needs. show him tell him and make him feel he's been loved. and im trying to make almost every day the best of our lives together. i don't waste even a single moment to let him know that i love him so much.

Hi angel...That's all you really can do - i think love is tied to our needs. After all, if we don't love someone we wouldn't be so quick to help them or provide for them. Thanks for your response.

I like buying little things to show i love him. He means the world to me (Boyfriend) and when even just buying his waters he likes i know im showing that i love him. He knows that i do because i used to take him back and forth to the hospital alot while he was going through seizurs and waht not. What he does for me is when i want to spend the night with him at his friends house, he will clean the room and dust and put new sheets on the bed and then i know he wants me there and he loves me for me. Sometimes it is the little things that make a relationship great.

That is so sweet! Sometimes you are right - it is the little things that show someone you absolutely love them.
I think that more than that though was the fact that you took care of him when he was sick - not everyone would do that...Thanks for the response.
