i have a six year old son who is naughty at times. One day i discovered that he sprayed our household insecticide to our puppy.I just discovered this because i saw a vomitus in our floor then i asked him about it ,my son told me that he sprayed an insecticide to our puppy.I rushed to checked on her and also found out that her eyes were shut ,got affected by the chemical spray,i immediately brought our puppy to the bathroom and washed her several times especially her eyes .After several baths i brought her immediately to our vet.thank god our puppy is safe .but her eyes still shut.the vet said it would return to normal in a few hours to days.thanks to my quick thinking.

There is absolutely no way that a six year old should have access to an insecticide. Especially knowing he's prone to being mischevious. That is something that is potentially fatal to human beings and animals. It should be locked in an outside storage facility or locked in a container way out of reach.

The big question I have from your post is: WHY CAN YOUR SON REACH THE POISONS IN YOUR HOUSE???? I understand your concern for your pet, I would have done the same thing, but so you realize that what will hurt your dog could also potentially KILL your child? Please, Please, Please move this stuff so your child cannot get to it (even if it means buying a padlock). you may not be so fortunate next time.

poor thing. six years is far too young to be left unsupervised with an animal, though. one or the other can easily come to harm. I hope he was made to understand how cruel his actions were, and how much he's caused the puppy to suffer. even that he could have killed her.

#1, these people are right when they say your son should not even have access to poisons, and #2, at 6 years old your son knows better than to be doing this kind of stuff to animals. I would beat my sons butt if he ever hurt one of our dogs like that. Kids do bad things at times, but that is ridiculous.

First of all, why does a six year old even have access to insecticide? Just to give you a heads up on this one, that is considered child abuse in this day and age. Second of all, do you realize what kind of damage it could do to your six year old son should he ingest the insecticide? In this day and age, an incident such as this is considered animal abuse. I would strongly suggest that you make sure all dangerous and poisonous items be high up and completely out of reach of your six year old. I am happy though to hear that your quick thinking saved this puppy. Remember though, the only way this puppy is really safe is if you do what should be done to make sure your six year old son has absolutely no access to items such as this. You sound like a responsible pet owner though and I am sure you have already done what needs to be done to make sure something like this doesn't happen again.
