My husband will not do grocery shopping at all. He hates it which in turn leaves it up to me. Why is it left for the wife to do whatever the husband refuses and vice versa? I have to do the shopping and put everything away? If you do the shopping does someone else put it away? He does carry it in for me if he is home but usually I go while he is at work after the older kids get out of school. He went once with me to Walmart when we were in Orlando with the baby visiting a friend that was in town up there. We only needed formula and some other misc baby stuff but thats about the only time he has gone with me. It would be nice if he would come with me every once in a while, I only go once a month unless I run out of something and need it to cook or think of something new to try or bake. How often do you shop? He says though after I get home that I should have gotten this or that or whatever...well had he come he could have got it!
Just wondering............

Me and my husband do the grocery together. We have it scheduled every Saturday. He never let me go to the grocery alone. This is an activity that we enjoy doing together. This has been the scenario since we got married. When I was still single, I remember there are times he would accompany me when I do the grocery for my parents and he said one time that he wants to someday do the grocery with me, accompanying me not as his girlfriend but as his wife and we do the grocery for our own home.

I do not think there is any problem for the husband and wife to go for shopping together. I do go for shopping. One of the reason I go for shopping is that I love shopping and looking at the different things in the shops. I think when husband and wife together goes for shopping they will forget less things for shopping.

I think that there are people who like to grocery shop and those who dont. My significant other does not really like to shop and sometimes will come with me and sometimes will not. I think that there are things that some people just dont want to do. I guess sometimes there are people who dont like to part with the money when they go shopping.

My husband use to never go grocery shopping with me. When I was pregnant with our first daughter and put on bedrest at 5 months he had to learn real fast lol. Now he comes with me everytime I go or if I am busy with the girls that weekend then he will do it for me. Its nice to have someone else to go but lately I have been wanting to go b/c he doesn't like to use coupons and I've been trying to save money. I look at coupons as being money itself. He just thinks they are a pain.

I share the grocery shopping with my boyfriend. Your problem is a common one. Many men hate shopping and refuse to go!

I live alone so I have no choice but do grocery shopping. Back when i was still living with my parents my mom was the one doing grocery shopping. Most of the time my dad accompanies her sometimes i come along. most that i do was just carry the grocery bags for her. Now i'm living alone, doing grocery shopping became a routine activity for me. I do it weekly or sometimes 2 times a week. Surprisingly I enjoy doing it, since i just buy for myself there's not much stuff to buy only food stuffs and some basic needs.

Sometimes if I like to spend some money or if I have an extra money in my pocket.. But most of the time, my sister are the one who is doing the grocery I just give some money.. Well, I really hate going to the grocery because I used to get more than in my list.. I don't usually follow my list and that makes me headache afterward..
I'm still single so I don't spend so much for the family.. I'm just helping my older sister in the expenses at home and her only child. She don't have a husband so we were just living the three of us and the maid of her child at home...

I usually do the shopping but my husband tags along with me to carry stuffs after shopping. Shopping for groceries is also considered as one of the bonding moments a do with my husband. When we do get kids, We will bring them to the groceries to make the experience / chore a family thing.

I am presently living alone so if I do not do the shopping and put the food away, it does not get done.
I hope and pray you do not get sick and have to depend on him to do the grocery shopping. He probably is incapable of cooking and gets allergic to dish and laundry soap. I hate incapable and incompetent men, they make the rest of us look bad.

I am very lucky. If I go shopping, my husband gladly goes with me. He will push the cart, unload the groceries at checkout, push the buggy to the car, load the car, unload it at home, and help me put it away. He is wonderful. I have a bad back and really hate to shop. I have gone shopping by myself, but I hate to. Do you realize that we have to handle everything 5 times? We put it in the cart, we unload the cart at checkout, we load the trunk of the car, we bring it in, and then we put it up! It is seriously a lot of work if you are buying a lot of groceries. My husband, God love him, will even go grocery shopping by himself and shop for me as long as I make him a list. I usually put the groceries up when he gets home, but sometimes he helps me put it away, and there have been times he put the groceries up all by himself. I can remember that my father always went with my mother, too. She didn't drive, so they did everything together. Anyway, I know how lucky I am and I am thankful for my husband!

Hi, callahanb78! In my household, we both do the grocery shopping. When we go to Walmart we will usually go together to shop for groceries and other items. But, there are times, when I don't feel like going in the store, my husband will go with my kids. I will be left in the car. When we are home, he may go all by himself and the kids and I will be at home. It just depends on our moods when it comes to shopping. When I go grocery shopping, I will have to put all of the groceries up by myself. While he just be in another room. And when he goes by himself, he may put all of the groceries up without my help. Sometimes, when I see that he has a a lot of groceries, I will help him put them up. My husband used to not help me at times too, and I would get mad at him for not helping me put up the groceries. So, I know how you must feel. There are times when he will send me in the store to pick up what he wants. I usually will come back with the correct item too. I do like for us to shop together, but my husband thinks that I take too long to shop in the store vs when he goes in there. I would just rather go alone or with the kids when I do grocery shopping. I don't like to be rushed by my husband.

Hi callahanb78.
I also get to do grocery shopping most of the time. Just like you, I do it when my husband is at work and my daughter is in school but that routine would have to change in a couple of weeks as it would be my daughter's summer vacation...I would have to take her with me by then.
As for shopping schedule, I do one major shopping every month (mostly non food items) and two quick trips to the grocery store every week for our meals.
When we run out of stuff needed immediately, it's usually my husband who does the shopping...but he always ends up buying a lot of chips and other junk food.lol
Thanks. Happy mylottin!

I probably do most of the shopping for the groceries, but when it comes to shopping my husband will go grocery shopping for me, or he will call on the way home and ask if we need anything...I am the one always trying to tell him no since he loves to grocery shop and over spends every time... I mean send him to get milk and bread and 5 bags later!!!! LOL ...it is much cheaper for the family if I go alone!! LOL

I do all the grocery shopping in the house. I go to Walmart at least once a week and maybe like the grocery store 2 times a week. My husband will not go to Walmart to go grocery shopping with me he hates food shopping. He will help me carry it in and we put it all away together.
