I was just wondering if the cliche "Distance makes the heart grew fonder" was in fact true? Or distance can actually makes the heart grew colder?
If you want to forgot someone, would you relocate to some place just to recover from all the hurt?
Please share your insights..

Yes, distance or absence can absolutely make the heart grow fonder. Especially if you know that they are coming back or that you will be able to see them in the future. It makes people count everyday that would bring them closer to the day that they will be together again. It does make the heart love stronger and deeper.
However, too much distance or absence can make the heart forget. Its feeling too much that the body, mind and spirit gets tired and the capacity of loving is stretched thin and yet, with all the loving and missing, the object of your affection wont be there anymore. So there's nothing to do but to forget and move on. In stating it differently, loving and missing someone too much without the guarantee that your loved one misses you too would just make your heart try to forget and move on. Its like, losing a parent or another loved one especially when you were a child...over the years you might even forget what they looked like.
Well, if I wanted to forget someone I wouldnt completely relocate, Id just avoid the presence of that person and when Im ready, Id expose myself to his presence bit by bit until I wouldnt get hurt anymore.
