so whats so new about this windows 7? i have to say that this the first time hearing about this and it got me interested. i wondder if it runs better then vista and requires less memory to use it too. when it comes to new operating systems i tend to be very relucktant about getting them. their new and most of the time they have a lot of bugs that they havent worked out yet. i'm sure that it hasn't come out yet but i'm sure it will be would before winter. did it tell anything about any features that its going to have or what the difference between it and vista or other windows operating systems?

I tried out Windows 7 for about 2 months and I must say that I was never this impressed by a version of Microsoft's Windows!
It runs about twice as fast as Windows XP (2.5 times the speed of Vista!!) it has better hardware and software support and they finally implemented native divx support and iso support which isn't really a big deal but makes just starting out a lot easier :)
At first glance it felt a bit "touch screen" optimized, but I realized that it probably was just me and you can just turn off all the graphical extras and run your Windows even faster.
I have run Linux now for almost 4 years and am thinking about dual-booting with Windows 7 when the full version is released. Hopefully they wont mess it up. Because since it's still in beta a lot can happen.
But it is faster, prettier, smoother running and maybe even easier to use. Better new security features. If you have the chance to you should try it out, especially if you liked Vista :)

Windows 7 is at the moment at build 7100 which is the first release candidate. So it is on it's way. Assuming either this summer, fall or next spring. No later than that. If so, they will be kicking themselves hard over it. Because you know.. Apple is releasing Snow Leopard soon (*throws up*) :D

Windows 7 has recently released the 'Release Candidate' (RC) version and it is available to download for free. A lot of users are still downloading the same. Consequently, the servers are too busy. You can give it try before it is made unavailable to download.

well as far as i know the beta version is release and you can use it for free. this time i guess Microsoft don't want to make a mistake like vista
:P
they want the feedback and when they release the proper version it will be very strong. Lets hope that it is the future. One thing is sure, Vista flopped big time and so it is now time for Windows OS family to introduce a new and a lot better member. Like after 98, XP is the best and now the new one has to deliver.
