How many articles can you write a week?

If you write on AC, how many articles do you usually write within a week? I always intend to write, but sometimes I'm just not sure what to write about. Sometimes I log on with an idea of something to write. Then I get distracted and wind up not producing anything. I have been a little more motivated to write lately since they started updating page views daily.

I've written 3 articles today as I'm up to 195 at Helium and am determined to reach 200 this week. I have written more than 20 articles so far this month. I have not yet submitted any to AC. Being outside the USA, I don't qualify for upfront payments and can only earn on page views there. I do get a nice monthly income from daily earnings, upfront payments, empty title bonuses and marketplace sales at Helium, so I focus more on that site.

I get paid not just once but every month from the same articles. I can make more than $10 on each article every year, year after year, not just $10 once. I do sell articles in the Helium marketplace for up to $50 each, but that is a once only payment and I never earn another penny from them. I can also put the same articles for non-exclusive sale at Constant Content, and I reuse them at other sites so they earn more money there too.

Imagine if you'd sold those 200 articles on TextBroker at $7.00 each. YOu would have made $1,400 from them. (okay - you're outside the US so they wouldn't have paid you anything... sorry. I'll try again). Imagine if you'd sold those same 200 articles on BrightHub at $10.00 each. You would have made $2,000 from them. Imagine if you'd sold another 200 articles on LoveToKnow at $20.00 each. That's a handy $4,000 in your pocket right now. Imagine if you'd written 200 articles for PersonalMoneyStore at $25.00 each. That's $5,000 in your pocket right now. Imagine if you'd submitted 200 articles to Constant-Content and set your price for each article at $50.00 per sale. That's $10,000. Wow. TEN THOUSAND dollars for the same 200 articles. I still can't see the point in ripp-off pathetic penny-paying sites like Helium, Triond, Bukisa, AC or any of those places that don't value your time, your effort or your talents. But that's just me I guess.

$10 per article - per YEAR? Wow. That's $200 per year. With the amount you write - you could be earning that money per DAY - not per year. In 5 years time you MIGHT just make $1,000 in total from that revenue-share thing you've got going on. Or you could decide to earn that amount each week. The choice is yours. That's a long wait. There are so many easier, more profitable ways to benefit from your writing talents to let them go to waste like this. It's such a shame to watch promising talented writers do this to themselves voluntarily.

I don't write that much original content for Associated Content. It takes me a long time to think up topics and write new articles. I have a lot of already-published articles on Helium, and I have been reposting these to AC for page views only. But it has helped my bottom line, and gotten me some new readers, so I am happy. I just can't keep up with folks who write new articles every day. It takes me time to research and write, and I am no speed demon. Still, I try and publish as much as I can. How about you? How many articles do you think you do in a week? Good luck with your writing!

You sound just like me. I try and write every day, but it doesn't always end up for the same site. Finding out about re-posting the Helium articles made me happy because I put a lot of research into those, and it's nice to get the page hits on AC, too. Good luck with your writing!

Hushpie, you can visit the blog on my profile if you wish. There is much information on my blog about AC. AnythngArt, I have heard others say that they place their Helium articles on AC for pageviews. I hadn't thought of it until it was mentioned on Mylot. I'll have to go back and submit my Helium articles to AC. For AC, I am often lucky to publish one article a week. I have started publishing a bit more with AC lately. I've become a bit addicted to seeing my pageviews go up since they started updating the pageviews daily. I spend some time each day writing. Sometimes I write for AC. Sometimes I write for Helium. Sometimes I post to my blogs. Sometimes I do other freelance writing work. Oh, and lets not forget all of the time spent posting on Mylot, lol.

I try to write at least 4-6 each week. It's a nice supplemental income. Also, I've been excited lately because each month my page views has been increasing steadily. I figure, the more I write about different topics, the more exposure I can receive, and my page views should continue to jump each month. I was earning about $0.40 each month from page views the first few months I started. Then it went up to $2 and some change for a couple months, now it's over $3 each month and still increasing. It's not much now, but hopefully one day soon I will be making $10 or $20 a month just from page views alone.

I think I am addicted to pageviews. They weren't updated Sunday or Monday and I kept going back to see if they'd been updated yet. It would be nice to make a nice little bit of passive income from your articles each month. I'm sure you'll get to the level you want to be. BTW, can you message me your username so I can read some of your work?

Well, I was writing about 2 or 3 articles a week. Then daily, I would update my wordpress blog, my orble blog, my Triond stuff, then waltz over and do a little hub paging, see whats going going on at social spark, look at TMZ, read alittle bit of Drudge Report, write a little bit more of my next book, read the new Spiderman comic, argue with my girlfriend, then maybe write a little bit on Mylot. But now I'm trying to start my own website, but after really thinking about it.....I believe I'm going to dedicate my full time job to replying to Lee_Rites questions. It just feels like the right thing to do.

I agree. You should devote more time responding to Lee_Rites discussions. You should also devote a bit more time to starting discussions for Lee_Rites to respond to. That's just my opinion. Lee_Rites also needs to devote more time to reading your blogs!

I strive for five articles a day but that is not lwys possible. getting in the mood can be hard sometimes. I go to buzz yahoo for ides and anytime i am curious about something and do reserch to find the answer i write an article about it. my best performing articles come out of this process.

I started something similar recently. I've been using wordtracker's keyword suggestion tool to get ideas. I just put random words in and see what pops up. I don't write 5 articles a day. I am lucky to get 5 a week. I have been putting much time elsewhere lately.

It is not how many articles that I can write daily, it is all about quality. However, for getting paid for your articles quantity is also a must. For me, I tried to write one article daily, however, on some occasion i find myself clueless about what to write, exactly like you.

It depends. Sometimes I am motivated to write just a few articles other times I am motivated to write a lot. And I think alot has to do with quality as well and I am working on a few articles that would add quality to my profile pages, and possible something I could add to my portfolio. I am doing a lot of research to learn more about some things and doing some interviews to learn more about what otre people think to add into my articles. I want them to mean something when someone reads them.

I usually just write 2 or 3 things a week, if that. Back in October I was writing a lot of articles about Halloween costumes because I'm really into Halloween and I had a lot of down time. I hope to get my computer in a little better working order and start writing more in a month or two. It's hard finding good topics sometimes and I usually depend on the calls for content (well now it's "assignments") for ideas.

I've written a few "assignments" for AC. Those articles usually get decent pageviews.

I contribute very little to AC because my articles don't seem to be what they're looking for as far as up front payment and the page view index is lower than Bukisa or E How which is where I publish most of my articles. I don't go directly to the site to write. I open a word processing program, type in some thoughts, get on the internet and research the subject matter, then pull it all together in the word processor before I try to publish it. That way if I get distracted I don't loose what I've already done, and can pick it back up later. that also gives me a copy on my hard drive. While I sometimes write at least one article a day there are times that I don't write anything for a week or two. I'm not an on demand writer. I have to be in the mood to write. I spend the time doing other productive things when I can't seem to find a topic that compels me to write about it.
• United States
19 Mar 09
I also have trouble writing "on demand". I have to have some interest in what I am writing. I think much of the problem is that I don't NEED the money. I like it, but I don't need it. Maybe if I quit my day job I would have the need for money and the motivation to produce more?

It all depends on my mood and how much free time I have. This month so far I have written 21 helium articles, 1 Triond article, 1 bukisa article and perhaps 2 articles for associated content. My main aim is to make payout on all four sites on a monthly basis. I always manage with Helium as they give upfront payments, and triond as the payment is low but still trying with AC and bukisa which is newer. I get my ideas by reading the news and general internet browsing. Plus Helium has many titles already and sometimes I change them around a little and use them for my other writing sites

I usually get better upfront payments from AC than I do from Helium. Plus on Helium you have to wait for the monthly payout to get your upfront payments. I do like writing for Helium titles just because it is always easy to find something to write about.

I don't write every week for AC, but I wish I did. I have a full time job that takes up most of my time, and find it hard to submit to AC on a regular basis. I do, however, check the Assignments (Calls for Content) daily to see if there is an article or two I can commit to writing, despite my schedule. I actually just had two articles published today from submitting Calls. One was about planning a trip to London this summer on a budget, and the other was about planning a trip to Italy this summer on a budget. Both are fabulous places that I've been to on a budget before and I felt that writing them came naturally. I hope others find them enjoyable and helpful!

I'll have to look those articles up and check them out. The articles that come naturally are the easiest and usually turn out the best. I also have a full time job and don't spend as much time writing as many other writers on AC. AC just doesn't pay as much as my day job (actually my night job).

I do not have an average for ac. I try to write as much as possible, but I have really had a hard time developing new ideas for articles. If I have an idea, it seems like someone has already written about it. Recently, I have been doing many more calls for content. This has really helped because you know what to write about and the guidelines they want from your article. You also know what the upfront payment will be.

I have written some calls for content. I also like the the guidelines are laid out in advance. I just don't usually find calls that I am interested in.

I have the link in my bookmarked, although i haven't yet signed up to start writing as I am normally quite clueless to what to write when I really need to do it, normally i can just type and type - but when it's needed i get a mind blank, i may well give it a go. How much do they pay you, i know it's all about quality and stuff but whats the average?

I believe up-fronts start around $3 and go up to $20. Then you continue to earn performance pay for pageviews. The pageviews are the fun part and probably the most profitable in the long run.

I average around 3 hours to complete an article. However, if the topic is familiar to me I can just type of my mind and it wouldn't take more than 45 minutes. On the other hand, if I am in a totally unfamiliar territory, I might take the whole day.

I think I am pretty much the same. I can tap out an article on a familiar topic fairly quickly. I have also spent quite a bit of time on articles that I've had to do a bit of research on.

I write about 3-4 articles these days. It entirely depends on the topic. I may take about 2 hours for some article while some I can churn out in 30 min. I do not write for Ac. But I write for Helium.

Though I prefer AC, I do find it easier to write articles on Helium. Often times I can find topics that I do not have to research at all because I am familiar with the subject matter. They have a good selection of titles.

When I first started if I wanted to I could easily write 5 articles a week. But the problem is, eventually I sort of ran out of topics to write about. I think now I've taken enough of a break though to come up with some more articles and soon I'll be back.

I'm still new to writing and very enthusiastic right now. About 7 to 8 articles per week. There are more than 30 ideas that begged a chance to put into writing. Guess for me, generating ideas is not a problem. The problem is self-discipline, to actually sit down and write. Talked to the cleaner in the office yesterday, surprised that she has so many gossips. As I work and chat with her at the same time, I got the inspiration to write an article about "Rich in Gossips". Well, it's just an idea and still an idea. I haven't taken any step to materialise it into an article.

Hi Lee, what's your user id in AC? I like to read your articles and add you to favorite list. There are a lot of very fantastic writers in AC. Lina Rotz, a writer in AC, said that on good days, she wrote 12 articles. Really marvellous, she can write about anything once the idea form in her mind. I'm still wondering she's a spirit or human!

Hi Kimutaku, I like your "as many as I can" attitude. Good to keep on writing and writing, as many articles as possible. I dont believe that with quantity, the quality of articles will suffer. We can also write and save an article, and revisit the article to edit a few days later. In this case, the quality of article will improve. The hardest part is to actually start writing.
