ok mylotters i need your opinion for my friend nancy, she has a 5 year old son who is in an i.e.p program well about two weeks ago she pcked him up from daycare and noticed he had welps on his face and when she questioned him about it he said "his speech teacher slapped him" so she brought him back into the daycare to ask the teachers thereif they noticed themarks on his face they all said they didnt see it till she pointed it out. she took a picture of it and came to my house to vent i told her to go to the police station and when she got there they told her theey couldnt do anything about it because her sons scool has a police officer there and she hasto make a complaint there at the school so the next day she goes to the school and her son explains in detail " yesterday while i was with the speech teacher we were playing a game and i was losing so i pushed the game to the floor she told me to sit in time out and when i touched the door (which means he was trying to leave the class) she slammed me down hard in the chair she hurt my bum so i screamed and then she smacked me" when asked if th teacher said sorry he replied "no she told me to wipe my eyes" when he wen back to the daycare he told the daycare teachr he desnt wanna go to school anymore bcause the teacer always hits him and another kid in his class, a meeing was held and they brought the boy in the same room with the principle the assitant principle the class teacher and the speech teacher, they asked nancy son to tell his side of the story, but because the speech teacher was there (remind you its the teacher that slapped him) he wouldnt talk, so the assistant priciple said "well maybe he is making it up" he is 5 years old i feel they brought the teacher that hit him in te room to intimidate him because his story is consistant everytime he changesit and he keeps saying he doesnt wanna go to school so the teacher can keep hurting him. mylotters please help me help my friend. i believe her son how would you go about handeling this issue?

I am not sure where you are locate state wise, but tell your friend to get in touch with the nearest Educational Advocate. They can help her get threw with the proper way. They will help her understand the laws and rules that need to be followed. Best of Luck!

Iam sorry to hear about what you and your friend and her son are going through.you think that your children are safe hen you bring them to daycare,i guess that we have to really have to check out everyone.I would try and press charges against that lady and keep complaining to the school about their hiring policies. Nancy is telling the truth because 5 year olds really dont know how to lye, they also would not complain about going to school.Maybe your friend should talk to the other parents and see if any of the other kids are saying the same thing.

Your friend needs to take her child to the county DA and make a report. Also the child should probably see a counse3lor to get over this awful trauma. Boy this teacher is lucky I don't know of a dark alley somewhere...

I would definitely have the police charge this person. No one has the right to hit a child... EVER. If this teacher is hitting children, she/he should not be working with children, plain and simple. It is good that you took photos so that you have evidence. Your friend needs to find another place to take her child for this program, I would not take him back there. He is obviously scared, for good reason. Children, although it is difficult to get the full story sometimes, generally tell you the truth. Sometimes you have to pry for more, but it is definitely worth it to get the story from the child. Keep following up with the police and have this teacher charged. He/she has no right to hit your friend's son.
