Do you have Goodwill stores near you? Around here they have a half price sale every other week. That's a great time to go if you can stand the crowds.

Our goodwill has a halfprice "DAY" & usually the items with those colors are like trying to find a needle in the haystack around here. Plus our Goodwill is so overpriced you'd do better watching the clearance racks.... really $8 for a pair of USED jeans! I won't pay it!

When I lived up north I used to visit four or five thrift stores every couple of weeks just to see what they had. I especially love old art in many forms so I would usually find something to buy. Now that I live in a more rural area in the south there are more flea markets than thrift stores so I don't go often and, when I do, it's usually to the one operated by my church and I'm usually dropping stuff off.

Today is 50% off at my favorite thrift store.I usually find like new childrens clothing very affordable, like if it's $4 it's $2, if it's $2 it's $1 on 50% off Thursdays .Last time I visit the thrift store on 50% off Thursday I found 2 BEAUTIFUL curtain panels that normally retail brand new for $30 each, but I paid only $1.50 for each at my favorite thrift store.Later this afternoon I plan on thrifting at my favorite store!

I do enjoy thrift stores, and I do a lot of shopping there. Recently I have gotten frustrated and went to buy clothing for my daughters at full price because I couldn't find the right size at the thrift store. When the clothes fell apart just a few weeks later I could have kicked myself!
My best find at a thrift store was a talking Big Bird doll. This was when Ebay was first coming out, and I was selling on Ebay almost full time as a way to bring in extra income. I bought the doll for 50 cents and sold it for more than $60. It was great! Now that Ebay has caught on, though, those kinds of turn arounds are hard. Too many people are finding that items that were once rare are easier to find in our global market.

I certainly do enjoy shopping at those thrift shops. Anywhere that I can find a bargain is welcome! I need to watch my money and I usually like to buy clothes that have been on a consignment or other type of clearance.
Don't get me wrong though. I would love to have some of those fashions that are brand names but they get too expensive sometimes.
I want to wear nice things but I need to find the cheaper outlets. Sometimes those outlets can really have nice shirts and slacks.
I haven't actually been out much lately let alone to one of those clearance stores but I would say that some of my best finds were children's clothing and also some slacks for myself.

Children's clothing is great at thrift stores! I don't think I bought a full price outfit for my girls until after they each started Kindergarten!

That is great that you were able to save money especially when it comes to kids. My son should be attending kindergarten this year and I sure hope that I can find a few things for him that are either clearance or some other type of sale.
I know that I want him to look half decent and I am trying to keep earning here at myLot to get those extra dollars to make things better and buy new things.
It isn't always easy with today's prices but if you can hold onto your money and know where to go then that is even better!

I love shopping at thrift stores. Why spend ten dollars for a shirt at walmart. Or more elsewhere. When you can get a shirt for under two dollars at the thrift store. The best find i think i ever got was a brand new pair of mudd jeans for under five dollars. I didnt buy them because i didn't need jeans at the time.

I love shopping thrift stores. I have four kids so finding good used clothes is awesome! My favorite find in a goodwill was a pair of American Rag jeans. They can sell from $60-120 a pair. I found a good used pair that still fit for $2.99. I love them! They fit good and make me look like a girl rather than mom jeans!

I love thrift stores and flea markets. I guess my very best find was a picture that I bought that was framed. I thought it would be pretty for a certain room, and the price was $12.50 . The frame itself for that sized picture was good, then I had seen that the pciture was dated and signed. Got it home, looked it up on the internet and it is worth $1600. unframed! Thats my best find yet!

As of recently I've found a few Nike things for under $2 and one brandnew Nike Dress for $2. I found some pants there for my son but when I went to wash them I discovered a tear. I should of looked better at them BUT I had 2 toddlers with me and sometimes just looking is enough, nonetheless do quality checks.

Yes, I enjoy shopping at thrift stores. Sometimes you can find a really good bargain at these types of stores. We have a thrift store in our area, but their prices are not very thrifty. Well, some of the items are worth what they are asking, but other items are not. You just have to be really careful what you are purchasing. Everything is not worth $3! I find better bargains for myself than what I do for the kids. On occasion I can find clothing for the kids that is well worth the price they are asking. The best deals I have found are books and videos.
